  1. Jesse Simons had a career high with 20 for Dayton. Eastin had 15 total with the game winner. Bryan was held to 8 in the second half. He missed a ton of foul shots. Dayton made a switch at halftime and put a kid named Thornton on him that has seen really very limited varsity minutes this season but can flat out fly in terms of speed and quickness. He did a really good job on him. Once Bryan gave the ball up after he initially brought it up the court it was very hard for him to get it back. Eastin played a few minutes of D on him too in the second half...
  2. Calvary won this game....not Dayton.
  3. We'll find out about Newport... I believe they have them later this season. I know it doesn't mean anything but maybe seeing the NC/Newport score then the Newport/Dayton score will tell us a little something...
  4. Well... There went your credibility.... And by the way.... Its Bellevue.
  5. Calvary was the preseason favorite in DIII but is in a funk after a hot start. Dayton is coming off three huge wins but is playing their fourth game in six days. Flanigan and Eastin are both filling it up... How does this one play out...
  6. http://scoreboard.12dt.com/scoreboard/khsaa/kybbk08/28452 According to that, they are 2-8, wins over Silver Grove and Louisville Collegiate.
  7. This one was never close... Dayton was on fire from 3. Eastin led Dayton with 27. Turner pitched in 12. Young from Bellevue was held to 6. Jones had some nice drives and ended up with 15.
  8. Thats good. Was it done recently? Should be a great improvement. Though I suppose the old walls may have given somewhat of a homecourt advantage...
  9. Yes... Bellevue's gym walls are painted a very distinct yellow....
  10. I don't know what the matchups will be, but I know that Dayton is guard heavy while it has been made a deal of how Bellevue has struggled in guard play and is more post oriented, specifically Young... I would be very surprised if it isn't...
  11. The first Dayton vs Bellevue game of this year is tomorrow... I'm sure it will live up to its billing as an intense rivalry...
  12. This one is tomorrow night at Dayton.... Bellevue coming off a 3 point loss to Villa puts them at 2-7, while Dayton off a couple big wins vs Heritage and Silver Grove putting them at 5-4 going into the game.... Emotions should be high in this one... Who has the edge?
  13. Where was it at? I thought Calvary would keep it closer than this...
  14. Jumped out to a huge 20-2 lead, let Heritage back in it in the second and third, cutting it as close as 4, and then pulled away with a big 4th. Heritage really stayed in it with the 3 ball. I don't know who #5 is for them but he was absolutely unconscious from 3 in the second quarter. Four in a row on four consecutive possessions against pretty good defense. Eastin is playing well of late. He had 26. Dayton had 4 players in double figures for the second consecutive game...
  15. Agreed that few know he started at Dayton, but have to disagree when calling him the face of the program. His start at Dayton was less than spectacular, but we all know where he landed from there. Just don't know if he's the "face" of the program. More likely the "face of UCLA":thumb:
  16. Rice has been Dayton's DC for the past few years, and had a year as an assistant at TMC I thought. He starred at Newport and then TMC in the 90's as a punishing LB. Very passionate about the game. Almost was hired a few times I have heard by a few different schools. He will eventually get a HC job. If it isn't this one I will be surprised. I've been hearing for awhile that Newport was interested in him...
  17. Let me ask ya something? Did you see this game? You can keep your to yourself. I said Dayton should have taken care of business in regulation. That is true. I also said that there was bad officiating late. That was true also. You can all you want. The end of the game was officiated poorly...
  18. Dayton should have taken care of business in regulation. Suspect officiating late.... Not terrible through three, inconsistent in four and OT. CC was +13 in FTA... Hmmm...
  19. No... He was a varsity starter in football. Probably working on that...
  20. Beuttel is the better basketball player. Romes is the better overall athlete.
  21. Bryan was good but last year he was always Robin to Love's Batman. Love deserved to be option 1 anyways he was playing varsity for what? 5 years? It just helped their team a lot to have someone like Bryan as option 1A...
  22. What? I didn't hear anything about a split. I was pretty sure that Love was the player of the year in DIII. I was pretty sure coaches only vote for POY for their own division and then an overall POY...
