Who do you think will take home the d3 p.o.y. this year? I think it stays at Villa, but it goes to Blake Byran this year.

I'd go with either Beuttel or Romes of Beechwood.

Wouldn't surprise me if Bryan got it though with his 30 ppg average.

I haven't seen either play this year, but was very unimpressed last year in the games I saw.

Romes has gotten a lot bigger since last year. I personally think Beuttel is the better of the two.

He is definitely better than Romes.

Both are much better than Bryan.

I am pretty sure that traditionally the award has gone to a senior, but I may be wrong. If it comes down to wins and loses, one of the two Beechwood boys will win it, or possibly Flannigan for Calvary. If it comes down to stats, there is no way Bryan does not win it. Maybe I knew and forgot, but who won it last season?

It was split last year, the D III coaches gave it to Love of VIlla, the Coaches association gave it to Hall of Beechwood.

I think it is very early in the season to be predicting awards of this type, but in my opinion any player of the year award should go to a player that helps his team be successful. You do not base it on statistics alone. They should be involved in the process, but the success of a team (considering basketball is a team sport) should have more value on the outcome of awards such as this!

I agree that it is too early to make these predictions, but I'd go with Beuttel based on what I've seen. He's given Beechwood great point guard play on both ends of the court and doesn't try to do too much, but if he needs to take over the game he can.

I didn't know this? If love had gotten the award that's odd because I would think team wise Bryan was much better. With that their is many others that I would think should have got it...

Hall and Love were both well deserving of their honors last year. They were hands down the two best SENIORS in DIII last year.

Both are much better than Bryan.

Really?

It was split last year, the D III coaches gave it to Love of VIlla, the Coaches association gave it to Hall of Beechwood.

Love swept the awards, he was POY from all 3. The Coaches association, NKAC and Greater Cinci Hall Of Fame

What? I didn't hear anything about a split. I was pretty sure that Love was the player of the year in DIII. I was pretty sure coaches only vote for POY for their own division and then an overall POY...

Bryan was good but last year he was always Robin to Love's Batman. Love deserved to be option 1 anyways he was playing varsity for what? 5 years? It just helped their team a lot to have someone like Bryan as option 1A...
