I would say that some teams like Beechwood wouldn't mind it, but you can't really expect the other teams to want to play bigger schools. As for the ballot, Hall was on the all conference team and Romes so the coaches didn't snub Beechwood.

I disagree. I think there is a few players who are really very good. That means the kind of guys that would normally get consideration in D3 aren't getting it. Bryan is hands down the best player in D3 in my opinion. I could see where you would make a case for Romes or Buettel, but I don't think you can say that both of them are definitely better than Bryan.

 

This is what I am saying. There isn't a lot of talent. Now yes, these three are very talented and easily the best, but after these the talent drops tremendously, that's why I'm saying it's down this year.

That is why we are seeing Beechwood run through everyone.

How does it keep teams competitive? or who does it keep teams competitive with. The bigger schools would schedule the DIII schools, some DIII schools only set there sights on winning the conference. Schedule the DIII teams twice if you want but don't require everyone to play them twice.

 

Probably because that is a realistic goal for some(most) DIII schools. Yeah, most DIII schools seasons revolve around two things, winning conference and making some noise in the All A classic. What do you want them to shoot for? Beating the likes of Holmes, Boone, Highlands, etc. and going to Rupp? Not a realistic goal. They don't have the horses to make it through that race and they know it. It keeps teams competitive because they are playing teams comparable to them and they are always playing for something. I'm sure the bigger schools would like to schedule the DIII schools. Everyone needs to put a few teams on your schedule that you know you are superior to. I think that almost all the DIII schools like playing each other twice. Maybe if a team thinks they are too good to play all the DIII schools twice they should move to DII and let the rest of the DIII teams enjoy the good competition and conference race...

There isn't any less talent at the DIII level this year than what there is normally. If not more. You have the few that are being mentioned that stand out, but then you also have the 7 or 8 kids that are real solid small school players. It isn't like its a great year for DIII, but its not a down year in talent....

DIII is all about size though. This is the same arguement in football.

Yes... Who have been the all conference teams for the past five years? List the best players from the past five years and I think they will compare pretty much evenly...

2008- Alex Hall Beechwood, the foward they had as well, Stephen Love Villa, Hamilton as well, Austin Kessen Bellevue Derek Bryan as well, Stephen Pelle Silver Grove, Jared Rouse Ludlow.

 

2007-Corey Pelle Silver Grove Teddy Wiesmen, Scotty Haynes Bellevue, Chris Hightchew Dayton, Baker from Calvary
