I disagree. I think there is a few players who are really very good. That means the kind of guys that would normally get consideration in D3 aren't getting it. Bryan is hands down the best player in D3 in my opinion. I could see where you would make a case for Romes or Buettel, but I don't think you can say that both of them are definitely better than Bryan.

 

Would either of them be able to put up those numbers is the question you have to ask. Also would Bryan be able to play within a structured offense. I honestly think it would be very hard to deny Romes if Beechwood goes 14-0 for the second straight year.

Yes they are both seniors, but Byran is a year older than both of them. While Buettel and Romes may have a year grade wise Byran has one more year of physical growth.

I think that the P.O.Y goes to either Romes or Beuttel.

The coaches association award is a better gauge of the actually POY DII seeing that the pettiness of the DIII coaches doesn't come into play.

That in itself is petty!

I'm sure not all the coaches are petty but it only takes 1 or 2 to turn it nasty.

How can you be so sure? And I'm not exactly sure what you are implying. What exactly was "petty" about it if they did?

 

And I think that it is necessary to keep teams competitive most years that they play twice a year. That would be 7 more games that they had to schedule and many of the DIII teams simply aren't capable of competing with DII and DI schools. The other option for scheduling would be to schedule out of region teams, but with many teams budgets being cut, not many teams can do that either... So what I guess I'm saying is I'm not sure that I like it, but do feel that it is necessary...

How does it keep teams competitive? or who does it keep teams competitive with. The bigger schools would schedule the DIII schools, some DIII schools only set there sights on winning the conference. Schedule the DIII teams twice if you want but don't require everyone to play them twice.

I would say that some teams like Beechwood wouldn't mind it, but you can't really expect the other teams to want to play bigger schools. As for the ballot, Hall was on the all conference team and Romes so the coaches didn't snub Beechwood.
