Jesse Simons had a career high with 20 for Dayton. Eastin had 15 total with the game winner.

 

Bryan was held to 8 in the second half. He missed a ton of foul shots. Dayton made a switch at halftime and put a kid named Thornton on him that has seen really very limited varsity minutes this season but can flat out fly in terms of speed and quickness. He did a really good job on him. Once Bryan gave the ball up after he initially brought it up the court it was very hard for him to get it back. Eastin played a few minutes of D on him too in the second half...

I noticed this yesterday viewing his stats. He shoots 58% from the charity stripe and that is unusual for a kid who shoots 43% from the field. He was averaging 33 a game going into last night and probably should have been averaging 36 a game if he hits 70% of his FT's throughout the year.

Offense is not Villa's problem though, their lack of any defense is.

He hit at least 4 3's in the first half. 3 straight to start off the game and then a 30 footer at the buzzer will 2 guys in his face. All 4 that he made were either very deep or highly contested. I know he had 19 points at halftime, but I'm not sure if he made any more than 4 3's.

Offense is not Villa's problem though, their lack of any defense is.

 

 

Yeah everyone needs to play defense like Blake Byran. Not even kidding.
