Congrats to Ryle on breaking the 6-game losing streak to CovCath. I have no doubt that the Blue Colonels will have a good year and go a long way in the playoffs. Ryle will continue to get better, too. Lots of room for improvement for both teams, especially ball security for the Raiders. Lorms and Savage are outstanding players. Landon's one-hand outstretched TD grab was the best I've seen in person at Ryle. I hope that Cash is ok. He is excellent and Kruer is nails. There are a lot of good players on both teams. Best wishes to both teams for successful years. The game was hard-fought with good sportsmanship. Good season opener.

The game could go either way as expected. Cash Harney is an excellent runner and great hs athlete. I don't remember seeing CovCath play their QB on defense. Savage for Ryle and Kruer for CovCath are terrific. Landon Lorms for Ryle made the best TD catch I've ever seen at Ryle. He drug 3-4 defenders 5 yards on another completion. Both QB's have been hit or miss but Harney's running ability is the X-factor in this game.

CWB - You do a great job covering the Blue Colonels in an informative and unbiased manner. You represent CovCath well! I have not been to any Ryle practices or either scrimmage game, so I do not have much input about the 2024 Raiders. I believe that Jr. QB Nate Verax will improve greatly from start to finish of this season. His ability to tuck and run rather than force throws into tight windows will be a key to offensive success. Sr. Landon Lorms is a proven and reliable receiver, one of the best in NKY. Jr. Dylan Lee is a threat and good playmaker at receiver. Jr. Jake Savage will be a force on defense and get a lot of reps in the offensive backfield in key situations. He is one of the top players in NKY. SR. Dillon Smith is a top-notch DE. The Raiders have many other excellent players who have worked diligently in the offseason. I expect a close game at Clifford R. Borland Sr. Stadium in Union. I'm not much of a score prediction guy. Best wishes to both teams for a hard-fought game with good sportsmanship.

For games at Ryle or Cooper for people coming from the south, Cattleman's Steakhouse just opened immediately west of exit 175 on I-75 after the I75/I71 split. Excellent eats!

Great season by EC. Tough loss and another close win for Ryle. I knew the Raiders would win, just not sure EKY or NKY Raiders.

Two evenly matched teams. Congrats to the Raiders on an exciting walk-off win after being down 4-0 going into the bottom of the fifth. An excellent season falls short for Krumps' crew. Tough loss for the Blue Colonels.

Thanks for the update. Beechwood's baseball program is excellent. This is a nice upset win for the Cougars. Congrats to Conner. You never know in baseball when best pitchers are matched in a given game.

Congrats to the Tigers. They seem to be in the hunt for the region title each year. I don't see anyone other than Ryle, CovCath, or Beechwood winning the 9th region tourney. The draw will be important and interesting. We could see two KY Top 25s face off in round one.

That would be nice, but I'm sure Savage will continue to get reps on offense. He's fun to watch.

Cooper is 3-14 vs. Ryle winning in 2012, 2014, and 2015. The only year they played twice was in 2016, with Ryle winning 49-42 and 49-20.

We heard the same thing last year about the streak will end. How did that turn out (28-10 Ryle)? I believe it will be a tight battle between two good, evenly matched rivals. The game could go either way. Cooper is due, having lost 9 in a row to Ryle including 2 losses in 2016.

I noticed the nice game recap in the NKY Tribune. Congrats to the Raiders on the walk-off win yesterday. Number 9 hitter Tate Cordrey launched a 2-run bomb with two outs in the bottom of the 7th. Two evenly matched teams with excellent regular seasons.

Kudos to Cooper on another great season and phenomenal 3-year run of dominating the 9th region. Great effort vs. SHA again. Well done, Lady Jags. NKY is proud of you!

Congrats to Dan! I believe that everyone on BGP will pull for him to enjoy success, just like we did for Bryson. It’s great that he teaches at the school, which is essential for relational bonding.

I hated to see that Tay went down at the beginning of the game, and Newport dug deep to win without a star player. Kudos to the Wildcats. Thanks to 859 Sports radio. I enjoyed listening. From a listener’s perspective, it sounded like the refs had no control over the game.

What a great game by 2 outstanding teams. That was fun to watch (except for LexCath fans). State finals caliber game for sure. Congrats to Great Crossing on the comeback win.

Over 40% of BGPers have voted for CovCath. Cooper beat them earlier this year in Park Hills, so a slight majority of people believing the Jags will win should not be a shocker. No one, especially the Jags, is underestimating CovCath.
