16thBBall Fan Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Final a great effort by the girls from Cooper, but Sacred Heart is just too good. 1 1
theguru Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 I was going to comment with the same thought, the Lady Jags have an excellent basketball team but SHA is too much.
16thBBall Fan Posted March 16, 2024 Author Posted March 16, 2024 Cooper was led in scoring by Liz Freihofer with 15 and Logan Palmer with 15 as well for the Lady Jags whose season ends at 32-5. Sacred Heart put 3 starters in double figures. They were led by Tootie Jordan with 17, Zakiya Johnson with 15 points and 9 rebounds, and Claire Russell with 10. The Valkyries improve to 30-7 and will play McCracken for their 4th straight state title tonight at 7:30pm. 1
The Double Deuce Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Cooper has had an amazing three year run, so much to be proud of. 5
StraightShooter Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Kudos to Cooper on another great season and phenomenal 3-year run of dominating the 9th region. Great effort vs. SHA again. Well done, Lady Jags. NKY is proud of you! 2
futurecoach Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 What a great three year run by the Jags. Just unfortunately Sacred Heart is just on another level than every other girls team in the state these last few years. 1
16thBBall Fan Posted March 16, 2024 Author Posted March 16, 2024 I went and looked at the athletics department on the Sacred Heart website they compete in 13 sports on the state level and they have an astounding 109 State Titles. The most being in swimming/diving with 35 state titles and have won 14 out of the last 15. They will be going for their 8th basketball title and 4th in a row.
Falcon Pride Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 The head of that Athletic Department is none other than Coach Donna Moir.
feelingit Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 In Cooper’s three losses to SHA, they were within 5 late in the fourth in all three. They just could not kick in that door. They dominated the ninth for three years but couldn’t figure out SHA. Congratulations SHA! 4
