Well, would rather not say, since it could be a wild rumor. I was really more curious about Ballard at Morehead.

I would say there will be rumors for most of the teams not making the playoffs whether true or not, and also for any teams that went winless or only won one or two.

Cold, high of 38 which means probably around 35 at kickoff, and a low of 24 which probably translates to about 30 by the end of the game. Will be the frozen tundra by second half. Should be to Estill's advantage. :thumb:

Sort of on the same topic, but does anyone know if Morehead State's job is coming open? I've heard rumors of a high school coach taking that position or a position at Morehead. I know Ballard has hinted at retirement a couple of times in the past.

I was really happy to see Fairview win that game on the road after such a drive. Nice win for their program. Unfortunately their reward is playing the top team in 1A next.

They were undefeated in their district and run varied offenses based on who is at quarterback. They have an outstanding athlete in Zac Wilson who is a terrific runner. They are a little limited in what they can do when he's at quarterback. When they play the Arthur kid at quarterback the offense is a lot more dangerous. He's got a cannon for an arm and decent mobility. They have a pretty good offensive line that is good size and have played together as a unit for two seasons now. They've been up and down this year mainly due in my opinion to the coaches not settling on Arthur at qb earlier with Wilson moving all over the field to help get the ball in his hands and able to make plays in the open field. I think this will be a close game, especially if Boyd is close at the half, they seem to be a better 2nd half team.

I really think if Boyd is to have a shot at winning this game, Evans needs to stick to the gameplan he's used the past two games with Arthur taking most of the snaps at QB and Wilson at RB and WR. Boyd is 3-0 when Wilson lines up at other positions, and 4-4 otherwise. Arthur's arm opens up the field and allows Boyd to do a lot more offensively. I think this strategy and home field give the Lions a chance to advance. :thumb:

The QB for Mason was a heck of a player in middle school and is beginning to really grow into the position. I think this will be a heck of a second round game and I'll go with Mason 28 S.C. 21 due to home field advantage.

I haven't seen any 383 pound lineman for Ashland on the field and I would think it would be hard to miss them! I voted for Ashland to win, but I think I voted more with my heart than my head. Hope Ashland pulls it out but Highlands may be more than they can handle.

If you go back and look at the original post, Neers 44 and myself were replying to the comment that IF Estill were to win they would prefer Harlan over Breathitt. Estill knows they have their hands full this weekend with Taylor County. :thumb:

Greenup is notorious for too much parental involvement, so I think the administration had better step up and back whoever is hired there to really turn things around. I hear Phillip Fulmer is unemployed. :laugh:

I agree, Estill barely beat Harlan and was a two point conversion away from beating Breathitt, I don't think it matters who they play other than Estill would have home field if Harlan wins. I would like to see Harlan win since they're the underdogs, but gut tells me it'll be Bobcats 35 Bears 28

Not disagreeing with the Green County statement, but to say Estill is not a true smashmouth football team is ridiculous. Estill is in the top ten in the state in team rushing offense and defense, how do you get more smashmouth than that???? I think Taylor will keep it close, but in the end the 'Neers will be singing "I Been Workin' On The Railroad" again. Estill 35 Taylor 21

Would have to disagree with this assessment, Bath is very hard nosed and physical, and they've had a good year. However, I don't think they can play with Corbin, I'll say Redhounds 42 Wildcats 21

This is a steadily improving Fairview team, but I don't think they can take the Rams this year. I'll say Raceland 35 Fairview 14

On a side note, I know you're a Raceland guy Doc, I was impressed with the Ashland area teams this weekend, Ashland, Boyd, Fairview, Johnson Central, Russell, Raceland, and Paintsville all won their games.

Yeah Corey was named player of the game by the radio announcers.

The mess in the backfield??? The local papers and radio personalities have praised Coach Evans and the players for giving the offense some new choices and opening the field to make BC a stronger team all the way around. Several other positions were able to touch the ball last game due to changing how Coach Evans utilizes Wilson. If a coach can make adjustments to win isn't that what should happen? Wilson is fast, moves like a deer and is our best athlete but not the only player. Corey Moore and Chase Wyler had a strong impact because the QB got the ball to them. Football is a team sport and having all positions present strong games is the goal. Read the local articles and educate yourself. Your comments sound like obvious personal attack on a player. This site is for legitimate sports discussion. Let's talk sports...
