Let's hear it, can Taylor stop the ground game of the Engineers, and can Estill match up to the athletes Taylor will put on the field Friday night?

I like Estill, but it could be a good match-up

If Taylor County stacks the box and tackles well I think that this game could go to the wire. From about halfway through the first quarter until late in the third quarter last night Somerset, with their undersized group of underclassmen, was able to keep the Engineers out of the end zone. Their offense is methodical and mistake free but if you make them go on a long drive they can be stopped. What you cannot do against them is give them a short field. Also the key is stopping them on first down. When it's second and 5 or less they're going to get the first down but if you can make it 2nd and 8 on a long field where they have to punt on 4th and 2 or 3 they can be stopped. I think their game with Taylor County next week has the potential to go either way. If Taylor County comes into the game healthy and with better weather I think they can score around 28-35 on Estill--I'm just not sure if they can hold the Engineers under 40 or not. It will be a very interesting contrast in styles however it plays out. Right now I'll go with Estill County 36-27.

They did a very nice job of holding onto the ball, especially considering the field conditions, and only had two offensive penalties that I remember. Any word on the player that went down after the game?

Thanks alot. Tell you team to hold there heads up. Very good team. I felt thay were the best team in that distric anyway. They will be tough in the future.

Thanks for the encouragement. Our kids really need to hit the weights hard this offseason. If they do that we have the chance to be good for the next few seasons. We only dressed 5 seniors last night and only 3 saw signifigant minutes.

If Estill can control the clock and limit turnovers I dont see how Taylor can stop them. Also Estill cant allow Macon to get loose in the special teams part of the game. Thats where he can become a game changer. Im taking Estill 35-14.

I don't understand how Taylor could score 28-35 Estill just held an offense that has averaged 43 points a game, to 6! I agree with the Stallion, Macon cannot touch the ball on special teams, I don't believe Coach Jones will allow one man to beat them.

Mike Jones was the leading return man in the nation in NAIA his sr. year at Union and an All-American too. He's seen it all thrown at him, and when I was at Campbellsville we NEVER let him touch the ball. Soooo, I'm just guessing he'll have a little something planned for this kid. Go Estill!!!! Hope to see you all in Louisville in early December. You guys physically dominated Breathitt the entire game last time, finish it this time like we know you can!!!!
