Believe GRC gets that first win.

Hate to say it but this could be painful as a GRC fan.

I think the "pagentry" will be there on Saturday night with a true final four type feeling to it as anticipation and fan interest builds all day unlike the current Saturday morning. Now the casual fan sometimes doesn't even know by game time who won the late Friday night game by tip off for the Saturday morning games. IMO given all day that interst will build. The same applies on Sunday. The teams with large fan bases and those Cinderalla teams who crash the title game will have the people's interst and the fans will be there. Sure AAU games happen faster but without the emotions and once in the llifetime pressure that comes from playing in the finals of the Sweet Sixteen. Emotionally, mentally and phyically tired these players are worn out on Saturday night. Give everyone some rest and then play ball on Sunday. If it doesn't work then go back this is for now only a one year trial.

I don't get the AAU comment at all. Multiple games with little rest in 24 hours makes the old way more like AAU.

I like it and think it will add buzz to the Saturday games by creating a better defined final four. It also will allow the two finalists to have time to get more fans there for the championship game. I like the marketing potential of having a true final four with time for anticipation to build.

You are right you don't need a coach with college experience to get players to the next level unless that is the agenda of the "new direction" you are going after.

IMO he would be a one and done with the senior class and him leaving at the same time. I still keep hearing they are looking for someone with college experience to develop players on this team for the next level and that it was felt players were not developing under Wise. I can't see any scenario where if Happy wants to coach for several more years that he would not go back to the college level.

Breeden would be a great hire and in line with what I hear they want, someone with some experience above the high school level to develop players.

I understand the cheerleadling coach and dance team coach were dismissed the same day as Wise. I guess they needed a "new direction" also.

Don't think it has anything to do with how tough he was or was not on the players this past year.

I am hearing that this new direction is on behalf of player parents. Wise went into a tougher situation then he probably realized. He's a good coach and will be better off wherever he lands.

Tells me that Wing knew he had new officials and could get away with it. Either way I do not think it warrants a T ever.

It was a great year GRC and I believe it will always be one of my favorite seasons.

Don't know how many noticed but happened right in front of our seats. Taylor lost his mouthpiece late in the game while getting pressured by an Apollo player. GRC was in slowdown so he passes to his release man and then a few seconds later gets the ball back. He dribbles to his mouthpiece, most players would ignore it or kick it out of bounds. Not Taylor he picks it up while having the ball pops it into his mouth and keeps on dribbling. Coach Humphrey called a few a timeout a few seconds later and he runs to the bench with a big smile and the GRC coaches and players are slapping him and laughing. Great moment!

His defense and focus during the entire game has gotten so much better as the season had progressed. He has shut down or slowed some very good players late in the season.

From GRC Bopper Stenzel and Adam Fatkin. Bopper I think is one of the state's best point guards, can shoot the three and has a nice mid-range jumper. Adam is a 6'-6" big man with a nice touch around the rim.

I thought a double line of police was a bit heavy handed. It even got a bit chippy there for a couple of seconds when the first wave of students met the police line. After the students were turned back I saw one officer give a two handed shove into the back of one kid to push the line back. It settled down quickly when the GRC staff got there. I doubt it would have been the same had Montgomery won.
