Nice touch by Montgomery collecting money for the tornado victims also. -

Great game by Bopper and all the Cards who played their roles for a team win. Great tourney. Nice clean and modern facility, parking was a breeze, concession a bit crowded but the popcorn was delicious. National Anthem was very nice. Did think the Mason crowd would have been bigger. Good luck to all the Mason seniors and here's to a good football career at UK for Harris. -

Agreed better that day because the home court made them better that day. -

So Indiana is the better team since they beat UK at Bloomington. You don't don't think home court and that atmosphere that day wasn't worth a few points? Whether it was the adrenaline boosting their players or the nerves of the Wildcats that crowd affected that game hence it was a home court advantage. Home court advantage exists but it doesn't guarantee a win. Would Mason have won at home by more last night, maybe or would Montgomery have lost by more anywhere but home last night, again maybe. You might be the only person in KY who thinks IN is better that UK, period. -

In the decade I grew up in you are right. But 3 or 4 decades later it is not. Elvis' hips were disgraceful in the 60's but they are seen as old fashion now. Times change and not always for the better. -
I knew they were building but didn't realize the name change. It will take some time to get use to Robertson County but that is life, all things change.

I can't remember a similiar game either and the first half flew by. -

I am sorry but I just don't see throwing the 3 goggles is unsportsmanship. This is a different era. Punching, shoving cursing a player, etc. those are unsportsman like but the goggles, showing the jersey name, etc. that is just exhuberence. -

Rogers was the star of the game with his defense on McGovney. You could see his frustration rise with Rogers on him for play after play. I think Charlie had his best game I have seen from him this year. Besides his defense on McGovney he was all over the court with hustle plays and he stayed very focused all game. -

Thought the T on Harris was a horrible call. The missed free throws hurt. I have said it before and still think there was a chemistry issue on this team and I don't think it was just with the coach. -

Clark is telling people that the decision has already been made and it is a go. ??????

I was just told a few minutes ago that they have no choice and the games have to be played tonight.

I believe to allow the Juniors as much time as possible to get home early because the ACT's are on Tuesday.

For once I will agree with you (that was hard to type) that apparently Montgomery sat in the wrong place just like Mason. It should be an issue just as it was at the Fieldhouse. -

KHSAA assigns the refs for the regionals so the 10th didn't choose the 16th. -

Nice win for GRC. Augusta left all on the court with a great effort. -

I attended the 1969 regional at GRC and waited for 39 years for it to be somewhere else. So I can say with some confidence that yes Mason has mostly done a nice job hosting for all those years. But now that options exist it is time to rotate as we are now doing. The Fieldhouse was a wonderful facility but not anymore. Are there faults at BOK and Montgomery of course but it is time to be fair and continue the rotation. As you can see in bluenation12's post not everyone agrees that The Fieldhouse is the perfect location. -

Since Mason has had the tourney for 40+ years from your comment about 30 years I guess Mason had problems for the first 10 years. Let's see where Montgomery is after 8 more times hosting. Or are you saying that after 30 years practice Mason finally made a mistake 10 years ago. -

If Montgomery was the visitor and did not switch then that is not right. However, as Plato said I believe that did switch benches this year, so that could be confusing what is home and what is visitor. The main thing is they apparently did not sit the home student section behind the visting team benches. That is how it should be. I would agree that the design of the gym and the way the scorer's table sits makes for tight quarters and also behind the benches. I have always thought that was a design flaw. I am shocked to not see any complaints about the popcorn. -

Pendleton had a decent season, but for whatever reason not the year many of us thought going into the season. -
Thought Ohio was almost a sure thing to be in Rupp. March Madness!

The current rotation, which I hope continues as is, is the fairest solution to all and the best we can hope for until that dreaded word realignment comes into play.

If you check back in the threads for the games at BOK a few years back you will see that there were few if any complaints about the long drive for the GRC and Montgomery fans. We were just happy not to have to play on Mason's home court again. That is where the fairness for all comes in to play, Mason should not have the home court advantage every year now that there are options. Options that may not be perfect, but options none the less. As I have stated before I would be happy to have it every year at the BOK as the only neutral court option despite the drive. From Winchester with the better roads we can be there in about the same time. You are right we are hijacking the thread so I will drop this discussion and say that this game should be great one. I think Montgomery wins a close one. I wish I was going but without a dog in this session I will opt out as a basketball fan for the UK game. Glad GRC drew Friday night but had they drawn Thursday I would have chosen to go to Mt. Sterling.
