Ryle had over 400 yards rushing...Hempel was not really needed to throw.

Ryle threw the ball 2x in the first half. Hempel had a 75 yard TD in the first half. He completed most passes in the second half including a TD. Pike played the entire scrimmage but a couple series. SK fan, you are wrong once again...

You may be simply quoting off of his offers but he was not the better of the two QB's in that scrimmage. Maybe you should have stayed for the second half.

"You play to win the game" Herm Edwards Each play there is a victory and a loss. Each play you are part of that victory/loss and have a brief opportunity to experience the elation or defeat. Football teaches you how to handle that with class, pride, and dignity. But the best thing is that you have a split second, then it's erased from your memory. You have to do it all over again and have an opportunity to possibly redeem yourself. Football is fun because it is rewarding. Everyone mentioned what you get out of it and they were spot on but if you didn't have a chance to win in your experiences....there is no way you had as much fun as those who did. To officially answer the question, most people play because they love the "game" of football. They love how the game is played. They love how certain rules govern the game. The more knowledge you have about the game, the more you appreciate the men involved. Most who played can recall countless memories with friends and former teammates. Those memories can conjure many different feelings about a very important time in your life. There is always one constant, everyone will always remember the last time they wore pads....

They played, Cincy X won but it wasnt a route. After this game, Lou X made some personnel changes and didnt lose another game.

Ummm....you were suggesting that 7 on 7 is an indication of what would happen in a live game. 7 on 7 is fun and exciting but the real football begins Aug 3 and two weeks until scrimmages start. I would think that Coach Rodenberg would likely improve to 3-1 vs. Highlands, if they were to play a non 7 v 7 contest. But they aren't playing so it really isn't open for debate...

I guess I'll beat him to the punch, Simon Kenton. Many SK alumn witnessed losing seasons over the years but they have become a program that continues to get better. I don't know if they'll be able to maintain with the loss of Simpson and Hansel but they are no longer an automatic W, far from it. They have helped make the NKY large school division, along with Ryle and Conner in the 2000's, a much deeper league. I would also like to add NCC. In the 90's they were second to Beechwood, every single year(with a few rare exceptions of Bellevue and Dayton). Even though they are no longer in the same class, NCC remains in consideration for top 5 in the state each season in 2A. Good Luck to Eddie Eviston in his first year trying to remain a 2A power.

Agreed!! It seems that most of everybody is choosing players from their school or region, which is appropriate because thats who you saw play the most. Not being from Lousiville, Chris Redman was a great HS QB and if he had led his team to the finals he would have most likely won it over Alexander. It makes sense that there are so many Bluebirds and Rocks being listed, since they have combined to win many state finals.

You would think it would be difficult for a team to completely drop from the top 100 in Rivals when ranked eighth, 8 months ago...perhaps Cardinalsfan is jumping the gun a bit.

I believe the game is on Thursday, televised by FSN OH. I can only imagine they would move the frosh game to Wednesday night.
