The Bobcats are back on track after some early season "L's". All bunch of people wrote them off early, but they have a great coach and program. I still believe they will be playing again in the finals.
I have said this all year, the Dragons have a very solid team. They have a senior team, which pays off this time of year. They have a big O-Line with 3 hard running senior RB's. I felt after watching them play Corbin early in the year, they would be one of the best 2 or 3 teams in that region.
I believe Cawood had the region twice since 2000. HDE may want to back me up on that quote. I would like to see the individual schools keep the regional. Also, the arena is in Corbin, why only let the town of Corbin benefit from the money spent outside of the game (gas, food, etc.)
The power run game and the pass rush of HC with be to much for LCC. Look for seniors Green and Ball to dominate on both sides of the ball.
Harlan Co.- 20
LCC- 8
I have got a question for you 13th region fans. How many teams other than Clay Co., Harlan Indepedent, and Corbin won regional titles in the 80's and 90's?
This sets up a second game between Harlan Co. and Letcher. I would say all or most of Harlan Co. and Letcher Co. will be at this game. The Bears beat Letcher early in the season 12-7.
Harlan County's "D" gave up only 52 yards rushing in this game. Look for the Bears and Coach Larkey to make a run for the regional title. Maybe Dragon Slayer will pick the Bears next week (LOL). I am just joking with you Mr. Slayer.
