  1. Top 10 teams and players 1. Clay Co. 2. South L. 3. Corbin 4. Knox 5. Bell Co. 6. North L. 7. Whitley Co. 8. Harlan Co. 9. M'boro 10. B-ville or Lynn Camp Players 1. St. John- South 2. Miller- Knox 3. Johnson- Corbin 4. Redd- Clay 5. Green- M'boro 6. Wilson- Clay 7. Robbins- Bell Co. 8. Mills- Corbin 9. Wardrup- North L. 10. Manns- Corbin
  2. I really felt like Harlan had the team to beat Hazard this season. The game was also played in wet conditions and @ Harlan. I thought Hazard would have trouble with that big O-Line and those three backs of Harlan. Congrats to Hazard
  3. I still look for it to be Belfry or Breathitt Co. in the State title game. Breathitt beats the best Class A team in the mountains last week and a solid Estill Co. team this week. I believe that Estill Co. team gave Somerset some problems.
  4. Coach Larkey and his Bears continue to play solid "D" and run the football. The Bears have developed a very good rotation with those two young backs and Green @ QB.
  5. My top 5 Teams and Players 1. Clay Co.- Even without Hooker they still have a bunch of kids that can score. 2. Corbin- They return 3 starters from 13th region title team. 3. South L.- Best big man in the mountains and solid guard play. 4. Knox- Miller and Canady make them very dangerous 5. Bell Co.- Should be the best rebounding team in the region. They have good size even at the guards. (Robbins is one of the best 7 or 8 players in the region). 1. St. John -South 2. Miller- Knox 3. Johnson- Corbin 4. Reed- Clay 5. Green -M'boro or Wilson from Clay
  6. Hazard has more speed, but Harlan has a senior team and maybe the best Class A ground game in the mountains. I believe Harlan has the team to beat Hazard this year. These are two of the best three teams in that region. Harlan-22 Hazard- 20
  7. Hazard has more speed, but Harlan has a senior team and maybe the best Class A rushing attack in the mountains. I believe Harlan has the kids this year to beat Hazard.
  8. Estill Co. is playing good, but Breathitt Co. is still the king of that district. Breathitt Co.- 30 Estill co.- 14
  9. The winner of this game should be district champs. This game is going to be played @ Harlan Independent. Harlan has a senior ball team this year and maybe the best Class A rushing attack in the mountains. Look for the Dragons to control the clock and stop Hazard just enough to win the game. Harlan- 22 Hazard- 20
  10. This is my take on Corbin Vs Knott. Corbin drilled Harlan Independent and Harlan Independent just drilled Knott Co. I guess this one could get ugly very quick. Corbin 50 Knott Co.- 8
  11. Hazard may be taking the title as the Class A Mountain Power team.
  12. The Bears "D" and new look "O" will be to much for North Laurel. HC- 20 North Laurel- 12
  13. Bell Co. and Boyle Co. are 1A and 1B in 4A.
  14. This is a good list, but I would put Belfry and Central ahead of Somerset. Somerset has a young team and could still be one year away from the State Title game. 1. Central, 2. Belfry 3. Mason Co. 4. Somerset 5.Sheldon Clark 6. Russell 7. Breathitt Co. 8. Estill Co.
  15. Hazard is one of the best 3 Class A teams in mountains. I have seen them play this season and they have a bunch of speed. I would say this is a great win for Breathitt without Fugate. Your question about Haddix, the paper today had him with the winning TD and a big game.:thumb:
  16. I got a Bell Co. daily newspaper today and seen #5 was on the front page. I did not realize he was back on the team. Is he staring on "O" or "D" yet for the Bobcats. This kid retuning to the team, could be the missing link in the Bobcats quest for back to back state titles.
  17. This is a big win for Breathitt Co. If they can get Fugate back the Bobcats could still make a run in 3A.
  18. I guess the two backs for Clay Co. had big games.
  19. This is the most even distirct in the mountains.
  20. I said HC would win 20-16, but I guess 12-7 is even better. HC played great "D" and got pressure on the QB most of the night. Other than a few big runs by Letcher's QB they did not move the ball. HC also had a TD early in the game called back on a holding call. Coach Larkey put the Green kid a QB and he made several big plays. This was the best game I have seen @ that stadium since the Bell Co./Cawood game in I believe 1994. I believe the score of that game was 12-7 also. Great job by Coach Larkey, staff, and players.
  21. PC could be a very dangerous team late in the season. I believe they had a few skill kids hurt early in the season.
  22. I am going with SW in this game. I believe they have a strong team that could win the region.
