  1. I am not saying they should split the team, but give this some thought. If you went back to a fourth team it might encourage more kids to come out and play because this could possibly give you 22 more starting spots. That would give you a total of 88 starting spots for "O" and "D" if my math is correct. Then they can come together on the high school level and compete with each other. That is just some words for thought HDE. Remember, a kid could be average in Junior high and grow into a great player in High School.
  2. Roark has done a great job @ Middlesboro.
  3. I would even like to see Harlan Co. maybe go back to the 4th team like they had a few years ago. It seems like they use to have the old Cawood feeder schools split up. I believe that would give HC another program to develop players that may not get to play for one large team. I believe the more feeder schools you have the better off your high school program will be.
  4. I will take the Bears in this game. I like what Coach Larkey has done with his "O" and the "D" for the Bears is much better than week 1. I look for Green to have a big game running and passing. I believe putting McMillan out wide to catch some passes like they did against Bell Could be the difference. HC- 20 SW- 14
  5. I was talking about the speed of #23. Look at Bell Co.'s first 3 plays of the game. The first two plays was negative and then they run a toss to him and he goes for about 60 yards. I would say he was the difference in the game. I believe you take #23 off Bell Co.'s team and this would have been a 14-8 type game. The only problem is he does play for Bell Co. and he is only a Soph.
  6. I thought other than #23 for Bell Co. the Bears matched-up with the Bobcats very good. This was a very physical game, and the Bears I thought played eye level with the Bobcats in that area. Good Luck to both teams next week.
  7. I also thought the Dragons had the O-Line and backs to play with Knox Central.:idunno:
  8. I believe he is one of the better players in the mountain area (Green). He is a very strong runner and makes several plays on "D".
  9. I believe you mean the 12th region. Clay will never leave the 13th in my book they have to much tradition in that region. Harlan Co. would be a team that could make a case for the 14th region with Hazard and Perry Co.:thumb:
  10. Danville has solid talent every year. When people say Danville is having a down year, that just means they have lost one or two games. I will take Danville in this game by two scores.
  11. This game will feature 3 great RB's Hayden of LCA and Watkins/Fritts of Corbin. I agree with a previous post Corbin will pull away late because of the depth @ RB.
  12. That was a game played early in the year. Harlan Co. has made several changes on "O" since that game. Harlan Co. I believe has not lost a game since moving Green to QB. He is a load running the ball out of the gun. The match- up I can not wait to see is the Bell Co. O-line vs Harlan Co.'s D-Line. Bell Co. and Harlan Co. both have studs up front on those sides of the ball. I believe Bell will have a hard time running the ball against HC and HC will have a hard time running against Bell. The team that makes the most plays in the passing game will win this game.:thumb:
  13. The Bears have a very physical team and so do the Bobcats. Look for this to be a fast playing, low scoring game because of the run game and both teams "D".
  14. Harlan has some really nice players. I believe the Dragons has one of the top 3 Class A teams in the mountains this year. Look for the Dragons to control the clock in this one and pick up the "W" @ home. Dragons-20 Knox Central- 14
  15. They will have one of the best 5 guards in the state playing PG for them (Polson). West Jess. will be one of the top two teams in the region.
  16. This could be the most talented team they have had since the mid to late 90's. I look for Whitley to be a solid ball team in the 13th region. The 13th has 5 really solid teams that I would rate just above Whitley Co (Clay, South, Corbin, Knox, and Bell).
  17. This could be the biggest win in Pike Co. Central short history of football. Congrats to Pike Central beating one of the best 5 or 6 football programs in the mountains over the past 10 years. :thumb:
  18. Estill Co. could be a difficult second round game for Somerset. I would say Breathitt and Somerset will face off in the regional finals. I still believe we could see the Bobcats make a run back to the state finals.
  19. They are one of the top 10 teams in the state, but they will be the 3rd best team in the 11th region.
  20. I still believe Whitley is the top team in that region. This is a list of my top teams in that region after regular season district play. 1. Whitley Co. Very physical with good speed at the skill. 2. Letcher Co./ Harlan Co. ? The talent is about even and so is the head to head coaching match. 3. Pulaski Co. They do not have great size, but maybe the most team speed in the region. 4. SW - They are solid up front on "O" and "D". 5. Perry Co.- Amos is a great talent, that could be dangerous for any team in the region on dry ground.
  21. The Bears should win this game by 2 TD's or more. I have heard from several people that the tigers have not been the same since the injury to (Hooker/QB).
  22. Does Clay co. have some more kids hurt other than the QB?
  23. :thumb: I would say a person with that many wins can coach.
  24. They have been loaded for the past 10 or 11 years.
