South got a much needed district win last week. However, SWP is going to be a tough row to hoe. Solid team.

Southwestern should win win one,they are showing that they are the team to beat in their district.SW rolls to a 42-14 win.

SW SHOULD be too much for South. South is playing better the last few weeks but the Warriors will be too much for them. I look for SL to hang tough for a 1/2 before losing.....

And it's Hall of Fame Night. And I think Homecoming.

Alright folks heres the deal, Yes South Laurel has had a hard time this year but people you gotta understand they have a new coaching staff and a completely new offense, most everyone else has had the same offense in place or had spring practice to install a new one. South's spring practice they were still practicing the spread, 4 to 6 weeks later it was a completely new staff and offense so cut these kids some slack they are now starting to buy into the offense and things are starting to click, just give it time they have fine coaches at SL and they are steering in the right direction, I am not guaranteeing a win but when the offense starts clicking like it will and the defense keeps playing hard nose football South Laurel will be tough team to beat.

I don't think anyone is trashing what Coach Welch and his staff have done. In fact, ... I think they have done a tremendous job, especially when you look at all the information.

 

1. New head coach & offensive coordinator

2. Lose a record breaking QB

3. Go from a spread / run & shoot attack, which these kids have all run since middle school to a power running attack.

 

What has really hurt South this year are the turnovers. Look at every loss they have had, and the turnovers killed them. If they can ever get that under control, they will not be a bad team. Many picked them to only win 1 game this year, and they already have 2 wins. If they want to win this game, they MUST hang on to the football. You can't turn it over, especially against a team like Southwestern, and expect to win.
