I read in the Elizabethtown paper that Sophomore running back Johnson had 281 yard rushing. The QB also threw 3 TD passes! Nice win for Mercer! -

I have heard that FK has a really good running back that transferred in don't know his name maybe Kleeber or something like that. Maybe someone can help me out. I think he is supposed to be a really nice player.

Are these numbers 9-12 or 10-12?

This should be a great game! Too close to call, but as you say I am anxious to see how good this FK team is. I really think they could be a surprise team this year!

Danville/Mercer County Scrimmage 8/12
confusion replied to adsfan's topic in KY Football (High School)
Danville is dramatically improved from last year. They fly to the football on defense and they run the football and complete enough passes to keep you honest. They should have a really nice year. Mercer is also a much improved team, defensively they looked much improved and offensively they showed some flashes but turnovers really hurt them. Nice competitive scrimmage, hopefully both teams came out healthy and took a lot of positives from it. -

Boyle did throw on Tuesday @ Mercer with mercer and Washington County. It appeared to be some pretty good competition but all of the coaching staffs were doing a lot of coaching on the field during the games. It appeared that all of the teams were benefitting from the different competition.

Sounds like this is a rapidly improving district. Pulaski and Southwestern are proven and now SL, MC & LC all are expecting to much improved. Sounds like there won't be any easy games in this district.
-
I agree they are definitely on the right track. I believe the district champion will be decided between them and Danville. The FK program is going in the right direction and they will have very potent rushing attack!
-
I don't believe there are 80 out now, but I believe they anticipate getting to around that number. I think they will be fine, the senior class is small, but they have 3 really nice classes in a row from the Freshman through Junior if they continue to work as they have they will be fine.

That is what I have heard as well. Anxious to see how it all plays out, I know that the team has been in the weightroom all off season went through a spring practice and are currently doing the june activities. Talking to the kids and the coaches the attitudes are great and there seems to be an excitement surrounding the program. Hopefully that translates to success on the field!

I know this game gets a lot of talk but the thing that really gets me is the fact that no one ever talks about how pitiful both teams played on defense. We know that Male plays man defense all over the field but once someone hits you for a couple of easy ones why not change something. That game was nothing more than a 7 on 7 passing league game. I know I may get blasted but come on guys play a little defense! 96 NC/Paul Dunbar was a dandy decided on a missed XP in overtime.

I believe he was considering the Bardstown job and once he got the offer from Holmes he pulled his name from consideration and hence Bardstown is expected to name Boo Brewer as their next coach today!

Booher will get this job! Bardstown hung around waiting on his decision and once he knew he was getting this job he turned Btown down. -
Anthony Epps new coach at Marion County

I guess I could be wrong I thought it stated in bylaw 27 that a certified/qualified applicants took precedence over para professionals. I am sure school districts are not going to violate KHSAA laws. I firmly believe in schools hiring the best person for the job. I believe some districts just interpet things differently. -

I agree with that statement, however I thought there was a rule/regulation that said if there was a certified applicant they must be considered over a para professional? Maybe I am mistaken but if he isn't a certified teacher I believe that Marion County will have to post the basketball position again next year and if a certified person in the system is qualified they have to hire them. I am sure their are loopholes for administrations to go through and I am glad to see an administration make it happen if they believe he is the best man for the job. -

Is he a teacher in the system? I had heard that he wasn't and was curious how they would hire a coach with no teaching certifications over qualified applicants who could teach? -

If you read the comments related to this article it says that Brian Britt has already been named the head coach. Any truth?
