  1. Thanks gamechanger couldn't have said it better myself. I know Coach Brown, Spalding and Mason took a major role in making sure the playing surfaces were top notch, what has happened since then I don't know. I do know anyone that has seen these fields over the last several years know that they were know where near as nice as they used to be. You could tell that something had changed and now they just think putting turf in is the answer. I thought I had heard that the board cancelled the replacing of the bleachers. I haven't heard that in any official capacity but I heard that they postponed it.
  2. They better pick up the pace. I have no idea what the time frame is when it comes to installing the turf, but I would think that it is a pretty time consuming process and the season is right around the corner. I am a little concerned that they are sinking this much money into a new field, when there are a alot of other areas of the facilities that need an upgrade. It would be pretty lame to install new turf and have the turf surrounded by those delapadated bleachers (those things are a lawsuit waiting to happen). Whatever happened to them taking care of the fields at NC? Their fields used to be the best around. I know there were a lot of teams that played games on wet fields last season but it just takes a lot of work to keep them going, have the fields just been neglected? Does Nelson not have anyone taking care of the fields? I do know when Coach Brown, Spalding and Mason were there those fields were immaculate.
  3. Mercifully the Lantz tenure as Nelson superintendent will be ending at the end of the year. This district is in really bad shape, morale of the teachers is extrememly low, administrators are soft and the kids run the school. Did I leave anything out? They need to not only bring the new superintendent in but get rid of every board member and start over with all new faces. We need a new voice, the only positive thing is there is no where to go but up because this district is currently floundering at the bottom.
  4. Surely you have been around the Nelson County school system to understand that it is probably the worst ran district in the state. Ok that is a broad statement due to the fact that I don't know every district, but this district is in pretty bad shape. There is hope around the corner, on April 25th the new super will be named and there is no doubt that he or she cannot be as bad as the current one! Although I am sure that the next super will come from within, that is just the way they roll here!
  5. After Friday there will still be 2 open positions in the 19th!
  6. Don't really want to keep this arguement going, but I am just curious what it is that makes you feel that Coach Wolfe is as you call him the best wing t coach. Is it offensive numbers? Is it wins? Is it championships?
  7. Less than both? I would guess that the talent that he had a PRP is probably better than anything that Coach Mckee has ever had a Scott Co. Then the numbers that Coach Brown has put up have been remarkable plus he has a ring in the largest classification so that trumps all! Also make it clear that I think Coach Wolfe is a great hire and I think that he will do great at Male.
  8. This is definitely no knock on Wolfe but I would think that Mark Brown has more than solidified himself as an expert at running the Wing T. Plus if I am not mistaken he has a state championship running that offense. So to make the statement that no one comes close is not fair to the other coaches. Also I would think that Coach Mckee and his success that he has had at Scott County should also be taken into consideration. There are a lot of very competent coaches in this state that run the wing!
  9. I agree 4.4 is really fast, I do however think that FK will be a team to deal with in their district. They had speed last season and my understanding is they had another transfer in that is the fastest kid in the school and that includes their state track champion. Don't know for sure but I think good times are ahead for Fort Knox.
  10. Just a feeling that maybe there may be an opportunity for some switching within the 19th district. With opportunity being the key word, not saying it is going to happen but there is a chance. May end up being a similar situation as the Bethlehem football hire.
  11. I wouldn't be surprised if this hire doesn't really shake the basketball landscape in the Bardstown/Nelson County area!
  12. Bingo!!! I really thought the teams were even, that press that McCreary got in picked the tempo up and Mercer went through a spell where they were forcing it and not taking their time and getting the ball to Taylor. That is when McCreary made their run. Then for whatever reason they start the 4th and no press and Mercer dictated the pace and their shooters made some 3's. Kind of thought McCreary would always decide to take a 3 rather than keep driving, as long as they were driving they were getting points or fouls which lead to a ton of free throws for McCreary.
  13. Haven't seen McCreary play alot but I would have to question the coaching a little. They were down 10 in the 3rd and started pressing and came back to take a 2 point lead. Then started the fourth and never seen the press until they were 6 or 8 down again. Looked like to pretty even teams. I find it hard to imagine a team beating another team twice in one season and people still saying the losing team would still be the better team!
  14. Huge win for the Titans, they just need to bring that type of intensity on Monday night. They played tough and really cranked it up on the defensive end. What an atmosphere at PC!
  15. Not really surprised NC lost but they were never in the game which was surprising. I thought they would at least put up a fight!
  16. I agree but this year the 5th region seems to be up for grabs. In years past there was always one or two superior teams. Nelson seems to be playing well and having it on there home court can hopefully be an advantage for them. Should be a great tournament.
  17. I think Nelson may use the home court to make their first trip to the Sweet 16!
  18. One of the best in the state, he is extremely versatile.
  19. You are right I don't know him personally and I don't mean it as a shot at his coaching ability. After going through that gauntlet and then having to get to the playoffs and do it again. Beating your head against the X & T train is not much fun. I just think building up Bryan Station and then getting it to a level and then having to beat those guys once would be a better opportunity. I wish him nothing but the best! I think Coach Nichols got a bad deal but I hope Manual rolls X & T everytime they face them!
  20. My guess is that the coach just hired at Manual will be wishing he had stayed at Bryan Station after playing the schedule Manual plays!
  21. From what I understand the previous coach at Moore was a high class individual. Now I don't know that personally I have actually never met him, but that will be lacking if they go in this direction!
  22. Exactly, I am sure there are problems at Shawnee. Why would Moore want to have the same issues. Anyone that plays Shawnee knows what I am referring to and it starts at the top!
  23. Why would they want to do that?
  24. It isn't enforced very well, some crews will call it some won't. In the playoffs one of the dlinemen we were playing against lined up with his helmet in the neutral zone every play. We questioned it and the ref basically ignored us. Then finally after questioning it again he basically said it wasn't giving the defender any advantage by lining up there. Let me also state it wasn't borderline he was clearly in the zone and on nearly every play and not once was he warned. Unreal but true!
  25. The most difficult thing is to get the parents to buy into the program. Nothing does more for the kids than being part of a successful program. It is all about what the coaches can do for their kid. It is the most frustrating getting big wins and then having to explain to parents why their child didn't get the time they thought they should! Forget the win my son or daughter didn't play enough. Someone told me of a coach telling the parents at a banquet that if their son is not playing as much as they like stay positive and support the team, don't point the finger and blame the coach or whomever. That negativity will get into the kids head and will eventually lead to the kid not practicing to his ability and the issue will snowball!
