Anyone know the status of Bryan Station's Head Coach search?

My thinking is that the next coach hired at Bryan Station will not be as good a coach as the one just hired at DuPont Manual in Louisville.

My guess is that the coach just hired at Manual will be wishing he had stayed at Bryan Station after playing the schedule Manual plays!

Hopefully they will get a coach that can build on the success of Coach Lucas and the foundation and confidence he has built within the program and community. The right hire here could take Station to the next level.

You obviously don't know Coach Lucas. He will welcome the challenge of the most difficult schedule in the State of Kentucky.

You are right I don't know him personally and I don't mean it as a shot at his coaching ability. After going through that gauntlet and then having to get to the playoffs and do it again. Beating your head against the X & T train is not much fun. I just think building up Bryan Station and then getting it to a level and then having to beat those guys once would be a better opportunity.

 

I wish him nothing but the best! I think Coach Nichols got a bad deal but I hope Manual rolls X & T everytime they face them!

I believe interviews are over. The candidates were Kenny Turner the former coach at Madison Central, Derek Thomas (long time assistant coach at various programs in Fayette County), Russel Rigdon the dc at BS, Jordan Johnson the oline coach at BS, and Curtis Cotton the OC at LCA fresh off a state championship. I hope all candidates get fair consideration and BS selects the best coach to move the program to the next level.

Would they really hire a coach who went 0-9 and lost to Bryan Station 42-0?

That administration must be an absolute mess!

First they pull the ultimate blunder by firing their boys basketball coach and the superintendent makes them bring him back. He proceeds to go 30-3 and is named coach of the year in the state. Next they don't support their football coach Lucas. He did a tremendous job of turning around the program and rightfully gets rewarded by being named head coach at Manual.

I really feal for those kids at Bryan Station! That school could be so much more with a legitimate administration.

Anyone know when the decision will be made? I have heard the candidates have been recommended to the principal.

Further if you want to look at his record, you might want to check out the 51-21 record that he produced prior to this season, and the fact that his 6 playoff wins are more than any other coach at Madison Central.
