26 Holmes (Covington, KY) It's a challenging task to repeat as the one-class Kentucky state champion, but the athletic and experienced Bulldogs should give it a good shot. They were led to the 2009 title by a group of underclassmen that included all-state selections Johnson and Pittman. Johnson, the MVP of the state tournament, was second on the team in scoring (10.7 per game) and rebounds (5.6 per game). Pittman led in both categories with 14.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

 

34 Scott County (Georgetown, KY) The Cardinals should again challenge defending state champion Holmes (Covington, Ky.) for state supremacy. Guyn, Jackson and Euton are all back after earning all-state recognition a year ago. Other contributors should be 6-foot-2 senior Austin Flannery, 6-4 junior Robbie Barber and 6-3 sophomore Tamron Manning.

Holmes and Scott Co. are 1A and 1B in my Ky. rankings.

Its good to see some Ky teams getting some national attention. Hopefully both teams can climb the rankings.

I think national rankings of high school teams are laughable...but that said, I'm thrilled that some KY teams are getting the recognition.

Very good both programs deserve some attention, however it is hard to compare teams accross state lines in High School. Not sure that the number ranking is correct.
