I can remember seeing a team pooch kick a ball and catch it before it hit the ground and the officals gave them the ball.

I agree with the good and bad. It doesn't always have to be the best player on the team that is the captain. I have seen players that were only role players on a team but they had the respect of all their teammates and were trying to lead by example and the stars followed him and the team had a lot of success. The good is that it puts the captain in a leadership role and gives them some accountabilty in the teams success. The bad is that it could cause jealousy among other members of the team leading to them not following the captain because they are jealous of them. Also if there is a team that does not have a captain that is willing to do the extra work and do things the right way the team could follow him in the wrong direction.

You don't punish a play for taking advantage of an opportunity to further his education. It is an honor to get invited to something like that especially a school with the traditon and history of Notre Dame. In this case he knew what was going on and it was a one shot deal. What if the school was prepared to offer the young man a scholarship on the visit. We are talking about practice, not a game practice....from the mouth of A.I. If the kid misses to attend his cousin birthday party...punish him If the kid misses to attend junior day at a MAJOR university....have him do extra conditioning or shooting practice.

Another thing he could do is wear some type of restricter to limit the movement in the direction of the most common dislocation point. I wore a brace called a "sully" during my senior year in basketball to limit my range of motion and it didn't pop out. During football season I wore a shoulder harness during the week to limit the movement and didn't wear it on Friday's to play. I had reconstructive surgery after tearing my labrum and rotator cuff along with stretching the tendons after my senior year in high school. The surgery could have been routine if I would have had it done when I hurt it the first time as a freshman. After the surgery I continued having pain after I was allowed to fully train again. It was due to an inflamed bicep tendon which I recieved a cortizone shot before reporting to camp in college. I continue to have problems with my shoulder eventually tearing my rotator cuff and labrum again in the during spring practice of my freshman year. This time I damaged my pectoral muscle too. My problem with both was I had major surgery and tried to do too much too soon and hurt myself again. It could be scar tissue that is causing pain for your son.

Yes, Mason is a great Coach...I think Danville will be a regular in the Class A from now on.

I like the dress code for games. If you don't have a problem with not having a dress code if you enforce that the kids wear a belt and have their pants pulled up, no hoods on their head and wear your hat the correct way.

I think that Danville won two state championships running a lot of things from that offense in 2000 and 2001. They ran the ball alot also, but I remember seeing something on the news about Harp and Danville being renamed "Air Ads."
