Ever since Guy Morriss turned downed the Rebels earlier this week, the talk of Boyle County Football and the next head coach has almost come to a screeching halt. Any word on who the Boyle officials are talking to now?

My guess is they are looking and maybe even talking to some coaches. But this one will probably be low key and we might not know who at all until an announcement. The difference is obvious. Guy Morris was a Division 1 College Football coach. He had just been bought out at Baylor and had been the head coach at UK for 2 years. The Administraiton could not keep that kind of interview "under wraps."

As they talk to other High School coaches, my guess is that they can keep these conversations a little more guarded and quiet. I have hope that they will have someone in place by the end of the month or early February.

Morris endorsed Washington County's coach. He said that he would be the perfect man for the job and there was even an article in the Advocate about it. Apparently, Washington County's coach was a Graduate Assistant at Baylor with Morris and played at UK. Thats the only word ive heard.

No offense to Coach Morriss but if I were Boyle County and I were looking for an endorsement I would be listening to what Chuck Smith has to say.

Coach Smith endorsed Coach Pardue and was ticked with the treatment he got, so I don't know if people in Boyle always understand what they have.

Read the Advocate Mess. There is an article in there talking about Lincoln County coach Larry French's desire to coach at Boyle and how is going to a second interview there. As a LC fan, I am very dissapointed and angry.

He has openly talked about how happy he is at LC, and now he is publicly commenting on how he is interested in this job.

Personally, the BC job is not as good as the LC job right now. LC has been better than them since Chuck Smith left. Honestly, the LC job has been better the BC job throughout the time, with the exception of the Chuck Smith era.

If French is flirting with the job, I would like to see him go ahead and take it. I don't want someone who doesn't want to be at LC, we will find someone who wants to be here.

I think French has put himself in bad spot, he is going to lose a lot of support even if he stays now. I can't believe he put it out there like this, that tells me he is gone.

I can understand your situation and you make great points, but the flip side of that coin is the Honesty that Coach French has shown. Being put in a very awkward situation in being approached by the Advocate Messenger, I believe he chose to honestly answer the questions and not leave anything for gossip. At least he is open with everyone, which in my dealings with Coach French, completely matches his character.

Any coach who is at one school and is approached about or chooses to go after a job at another school runs the risk of making people at the current school upset. Some choose to hide it when approached, others choose to just be honest.

I admire Coach French for being placed in a potentially uncomfortable situation and choosing to be honest about the deal.

I would think that he would be stupid to not atleast hear what Boyle has to say. Everybody is always looking to improve their status. Would this be a step up or a step down. Either way he has to take look and see for himself.

Yeah listening is one thing, he is openly showing interest. How can LC trust or want someone who obviously doesn't want to be there.

Lincoln County fans are starting a "Save Our Coach" drive. There will be an out-pouring of love shown to Coach French between now and his next meeting with Boyle County on Tuesday.

He may go but it will not be without some effort by the Lincoln County people to keep him.

We're not ready to start over......again.:irked:

LCPATS,

I wouldn't be to hard on French since he did revive the program and brought it back to life after being in football hell. With that being said, Larry says what he feels. He is not going to lie or shy from the truth. That is what makes Larry. But for you to bad mouth him after all he has done for Lincoln than you should be ashamed.

Speaking for LCPATS, I think he is upset because he interprets Coach French's comments in the paper as bad-mouthing Lincoln County. I don't see it that way, myself.

I like Larry a lot. If he wants to go, he will go. People in Lincoln County think that he will be less likely to go if he is shown some love and appreciation this weekend.
