I am glad someone finally recognized the contribution #26, Joe Riley Buten, made in this game. Like McGinness, Joe Riley runs with that same intensity and he put that on display last night by gaining 130 plus yards against top ranked CovCath! He is a kid that could get it done on both sides of the ball as a sophomore for the Birds. Congratulations on a great game Joe!

Prayers are with Coach Beard and his family during this most difficult and sad time. I hate to hear this news about Coach Beard...he positively impacted many kids lives during his tenure at Ludlow.

I couldn't imagine the family pulling the sons from NewCath!

I would not understand the reasoning behind Ken Morgan applying for the position @ Campbell with 2 sons playing football at NewCath. I couldn't imagine missing my sons games due to coaching at another high school. Why wouldn't he coach at NewCath?

Exciting news if this is accurate information! I would assume Coach Lickert will remain a public school educator...meeting with the CC BOE does not mean he lost his teaching position. He is a tenured teacher...he was probably informing the BOE that he was stepping down from his coaching position at CC due to the NewCath opportunity. Wishing Coach Lickert the best of luck and most success at NewCath!

Mexi, I agree...I was speaking to my son this morning about him being unhappy about starting 0-2 and he must continue to stay positive and lead. The 3 football players & Pat Henschen have only been back in basketball mode for just 2-3 weeks full-time, they will get their legs and shots back soon. Pat will begin to feel more and more comfortable on a court that he has not played on since 8th grade. I believe when the "All A" rolls around this will be a much more fluid team...looking forward to the progress!

Stadium is not condemned, the press box is the issue and why the stadium has been shut down for public access since May. Holmes will not play any games on Tom Ellis Field this year due to the athletic complex renovations that are anticipated to begin in mid to late September. This project goes out for bid this week.

Are the @ Holy Cross games being held at Holmes High School Meinken Field or the Holy Cross field located by the water park in Latonia?

Sounds like his style is one that players would respect and run through the wall for...generally people/ parents do not have issues with this style if they are realistic about their child's abilities on the court. Kinda odd for the ladies running the district to get rid of him now after all the time he has put into that program...if he is truly out!
