Lawnboy13 Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Breds got in a hole that they almost dug themselves out of. Congrats to the Red Colonels on a well played game.
Lawnboy13 Posted December 9, 2016 Author Posted December 9, 2016 NewCath 12-17-09-17---55 Dixie.......12-18-16-15---61 NewCath Moeves 18 Hall 12 Pangallo 12 Wurtz 10 Neff 2 McDaniel 1 Dixie Heights Schweitzer 18 (5 triples) Meyer 16 Bradfield 12 Schreck 8 Thornberry 6 Cox 1
Cousin Sal Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 I thought Jefferson would be more of a factor this season. Dixie is solid and has nice size. Bradfield seems more assertive this year, as does Meyer. Schweitzer's shooting will help keep teams from doubling down on Bradfield. To me, the X factor for Dixie may be Schreck. If he plays well, they are going to be a tough out come tournament time.
Qryche11 Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Wow....2nd loss in a row for Breds. Any cause for concern up on the hill this season?
mexitucky Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Pressure? They lost, arguably, the best player to play on the Hill. For the first time in forever, 3 of their best players played football. Let's see where they are at the end of January. Until then, as Cal would say, it's all about the process.
Big Fundamental Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Really appreciate the updates on the other thread last night. LB13 did an awesome job keeping us in the loop. I felt like i was at the game. Thank you!

Remember there were two kids prior to him are playing in larger D1 programs. And remember there was a guy named Cowen who also played there as well. JMO
Big Fundamental Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Dixie is going to be tough this year. Good starting 5. I'm not sure about their depth, but I think their starting 5 will be able to compete with anyone in the region, say for CCH, although that being a rivalry... who knows.

JMO None of those guys did what Ben did at NewCath. The reason that he is not DI is b/c he spent his first 3 years as a 3. Last year he asserted himself in the post and is the classic 'Tweener. At the high school level he was better than the Drews. Don't know about Cowens, but by all accounts he wasn't the best player on his team due to inexperience. Ben led the team to the State Semis by averaging over 20/10/4/3/3. That's pretty tough to beat.

No doubt he was a highly talented young man. Very much as pure of a shooter as you can get. NCC has been very fortunate the last several years with the caliber of talent coming off of the hill. Once they can pull it together it should be a fun team to watch.

Definitely a different time then when I was there.

Mexi, I agree...I was speaking to my son this morning about him being unhappy about starting 0-2 and he must continue to stay positive and lead. The 3 football players & Pat Henschen have only been back in basketball mode for just 2-3 weeks full-time, they will get their legs and shots back soon. Pat will begin to feel more and more comfortable on a court that he has not played on since 8th grade. I believe when the "All A" rolls around this will be a much more fluid team...looking forward to the progress!
