Like I said above I do not know all of the facts. But, with what the word was I was shocked he was still coaching. Now, not saying I believe everything I hear, but I never heard anything else about it. Now, that said, Troy Lee has been an excellent coach at every stop. Coaching-wise he is definitely a good one. Please PM me to clear up my misunderstandings about the Rowan job. I'm not criticizing or accusing him of anything because I honestly do not know.

He's not as fast as Percy Harvin (at least yet) but he did kind of favor him in that tape. That is awesome for this kid and for Kentucky. Its always nice when our state has a really big time prospect.

That is kind of what I'm thinking. Is that not something that has to be forwarded to these schools? Do they not care? I don't know the details, it could have been fabricated but I'm in shock that he's coaching anywhere.

Are we talking a major national prospect? Like USC, Bama, Oklahoma fighting over him? That would be awesome. He seems like the real deal in that tape.

Has there ever been a more aptly named player in the state of Kentucky? What schools are looking at this kid?

Wow. I was not expecting that. Hate to hear that for RC, hope they can get another really good coach. Best of luck to Coach Brown though, he did a wonderful job at Rowan IMO. I'm sure he will be successful where ever he goes.

Yeah it was. I was mad no one told me about it. I would have loved to put some money down for it. Heck I would have donated most, if not all of it back to the team.

It is hard for me to criticize a kid doing what he loves. Wing did seem to have alot more football offers, but my hat is off to him if he's doing what he really wants to do in pursuing basketball. How do you know he has to have "stardom" to be happy?

:thumb: The two-platoon system looks like how all the big boys play across the country. They'll have some big time guys they just have to have go both ways, but those guys are usually playing in the Under Armour or Army All-Star games or going to places like Texas, Florida and USC. It is awesome that a school HHS size can do that. How anyone would not have respect for the Blue Birds I do not know. They along with Trinity, Saint X and a few others around the state are exactly what every program wants to become.

You can't blame the kids for wanting to play and specialize at football. Highlands is one of the best football programs in the country. National rankings, state championships, great program to play for, great coaches. It is what it is, the other sports may suffer but its hard to fault the kids for wanting to play on the gridiron.

Why in the world would Highlands want Collinsworth to help coach this year :lol:? UK#1 you are a riot brother. Anytime someone like CC can help out a program would be crazy not to take it IMO.

Good post. Especially at the higher levels in KY it seems like the consistent title threats are really balanced. I do think a team has to be able to do both. That is one of the reasons I'm not a big Power-I, Double Wing, or any other type of pound the rock offense guy. I would hate to be in a big game and have to really scramble to try to make adjustments because our team was so pass heavy or run heavy and the other team had the horses to shut it down. But, let's be honest, if all things are equal if a team has better horses than their opponent they will usually win the game.

I agree. I do think it is more of a mindset than a particular offense :thumb:. No matter what offense you run, I prefer that kind of mindset.

How did I forget Wisconsin. I love their variant on the Power play. It's like Power Off-tackle mixed with Counter GT because they kick out the DE with an H-Back in motion and then have a guard and the FB lead up in the hole. If that isn't Smashmouth football I don't know what is. Is that how your school is? My high school one was. Fans were yelling all the time, and one of our coaches (who wasn't really all that old) always said the "3 things" about a passing play. I think he may have said the incompletion was a good thing though in comparison to the INT. Good post buddy. What did the old-timers in Ramland think about Coach Hoof's Air Raid when it was put in a few years ago? Pretty drastic change, but it still won alot of games. Like you said, I think the best coaches go with what works, and RWHS has had & still has their share of good ones :thumb:.
