  1. Plato must be a wise man. In all seriousness, the Boone Co. girls coaches so hard, she is impossible not to watch.
  2. Third game this year. MC has won the previous two. Who takes the 40th?
  3. A very good game. Clark fought back twice when MC had them down. MC had them down in the 2nd, Clark scratched back into it during the third then MC pulled away again and Clark continued to play hard. MC had some shots that didn't fall early in the 4th but give Clark credit for continuing to fight. If Clark and MC play like they did last night, this could easily be the region final.
  4. MC has a lot of experience returning and hopefully a few surprises coming from some of the younger players. They work hard in the weight room in the offseason. I think this group is dedicated and the seniors to be are ready to lead. The Indians have learned what it takes to win. They are coached at a high level which allows them to play at a high level. The team's football IQ improves each year along with team strength and quickness. Someone said it earlier, they just need to stay the course.
  5. I know, this is a completely different "can of worms". You are right....this topic deserves its own thread.
  6. I understand your comments in regards to Jefferson Co. However, you are comparing an apple to a bowling ball. Two different county systems??
  7. Why does it happen? Unless, you are talking the ALL boys or ALL girls schools, I can understand that situation.
  8. All districts should be seeded. Region is OK as is. Why not have the mid-season Class tourney for each class as the A class has now? Because no has stepped up and organized it like the Class A founders. The KHSAA didn't organize the All-A. I wouldn't wait for them to organize the others either, if the tournaments are wanted.
  9. Bourbon had to have a great shooting night for it to be close.
  10. I thought $100K was the free hat and t-shirt budget. Also, what about siblings attending different high schools but living in the same household. Maybe its legal, but seems strange to have siblings attending different schools.
  11. I'd say JC won't being saying much about this one. This one of those "the cat is in the bag and the bag is in the river" stories.
  12. Doug Howard from Belfry's two state championship teams may have been one of the best HS players I have ever seen.
  13. A very bright spot for MC that is worth noting is Jordan Stephens played with some confidence and actually dove head first for a loose ball. I thought that play spoke volumes for him right now. He has to play all out, every time down the court.
  14. Boy, you do sing the blues. I thought it was a physical game. From the start, MC gets a T for a player grabbing the rim in warmups. NO DUNK, just grabbing the rim. So, from the beginning MC got nailed for a cheap T, its a T for sure, but a cheap one. Bourbon wanted a physical game and they got one. I saw a MC team that played like they wanted to win it all last night. Nice job all the way around for the MC girls. Bourbon wanted to play physical and if the MC girls
  15. May have been the worst I have ever sat through. At halftime it felt like we had been there for hours. Enough said.
  16. Why not let trhe students in free to baseball. Make it up with a great concession stand. UK has practically made season tix free for its girls BB to boost attendance.
  17. For 10 practices, I think the baseball and football coach should work together to make it work for the players. Are any baseball coaches cooperating if a player wants to do both?
  18. How is attendance at your schools baseball games? What has your program done to improve attendance, if anything?
  19. There is certainly little glory in playing high school baseball. I really enjoy watching the kids that do play because they play because they love it. I think most schools are like Raceland. Even if baseball is popular the games aren't well attended. Its not because the community doesn't care, but its more about the game start times and weather.
  20. The Class A tourney is a great tourney, not the state championships. You get there a different way from an officials standpoint. Having said that, I think my statement will stand easily.
  21. I was just thinking that. That is the only reason GURU hasn't locked it down. But, seriously, I am beginning the think the Mason faithful think getting on here and whining will bring it back and keep it in Mason.
  22. You have to be a good ref to get to the tournament. Don't be mislead about that. But, it is like every other profession. It doesn't hurt to be liked by your peers and you must be respected, not liked, by your superiors. If these two things aren't there....you will never make it out of a region.
  23. Hate to say it, but it will be rare for a 15th or 16th region official to get more than 2 games. I would say Ancie Casey and Jerry Hurley are the only two I know of in the last 15 years. Any others?
  24. You can get a jumpstart on installing a new set of plays or formations. In football, everybody doesn't line up in the same spot every play. And, all 11 players are involved in each play, not just 2 or 3. Just kidding, coach.
