  1. Although I am not a UofL basketball fan I will say I caught myself thinking about the UofL tradition today. One has to appreciate all of the great players that played in Freedom Hall over the year. Many great games played there over the years but I am sure the fans are looking forward to the new arena as well. On a side note the Cards could make some major noise in the tourney and you gotta love it when a kid capitalize on an opportunity the way he did today.
  2. Johnny Cash live at San Quentin or Folsom Prison.
  3. Seeing Garth Brooks for free, drinking beer out of the back of a pickup truck we pulled up next to the stage at Louisville Motor Speedway was pretty awesome.
  4. Kinda wondered why Hood saw zero PT ? May have been a good game to see how he would perform in case this type of thing happens in the NCAA. But how can anyone second guess Cal. I mean seriously most coaches come in after the type of season the Cats had and talk about rebuilding. Take a look at what he has done with this team. He gets questionable D1 players outside of Patterson and turns them into legit D1 players. He then bring in Freshmen and molds them into a 27-2 team and dang near came came back from 19 down. Imagine what he will do when he gets his players in here. Regardless of what happens in the tourney the Cats are back and the entire nation knows it.
  5. I wonder how many are thinking it but dont wanna post it. Its highly possbile that Carroll beats Gallatin on their home floor.
  6. As an avid UK fan I will say this. I dont think any UK fan would trade Coach Cal for anyone right now including myself, it is very similar to the marriage UK and Pitino had in the 90's. Pitino admits he made a mistake in leaving but its natural to always try and top yourself when your as good as Rick. Having said that when the UK job opened up last year the top 3 names that MOST UK fans wanted were Billy D, Cal, and yes Ricky P. Most, but not al,l would have welcomed him back with open arms. Now that UK is back on top, hopefully Rick will be forgiven by all and move forward.
  7. Eddie and Tracy are hilarious in the afternoon on 700.
  8. Bigger storm coming Monday Night.
  9. Come on guys we should be pullin for each other in games like these. I was disappointed to see WV lost and the same goes for GC the years they have went. But we all know its in good fun. Congrats to WV on their run in the A. Most importantly GC all of the 8th region as well as others are believing for strength and healing with the recent tradgedy.
  10. Honestly JD Powers survery does not truly address the longevity of a vehicle. The survey is more about what people like or dislike about their vehicle. It addresses things like the number of cupholders in the vehicle. All you have to do is look at the resale price of a vehicle to see what its real quality is.
  11. My thoughts are I dont really like the title of your thread. Toyota quality is unsurpasssed and definately is better than any of the big 3. I have owned Ford,Chevy, and Toyota and its not even up for discussion how they compare. Toyota blows the competition away by far..... If you have read anything on this, the claims of the accelerator sticking could not be re created. Toyota is taking a very strong stance on this and it is evident by closing the plants. Most would just issue a recall and continue building vehicles.
  12. Have to say the same about Waltons student section, they represent!
  13. And they all are classic, just finished listening to a bunch of Conway on my Ipod . The best friend a song ever had.
  14. Hank Williams JR. Whiskey on ice, women on fire
  15. The Twin Towers, Melvin Turpin and Sam Bowie. Chapman Walker the Unforgetables Derrick Miller
  16. A couple posts have eluded as to why this game was so tough, the SEC. This is how its going to be the rest of the way. Tough hard fought games, many without the national hype or exposure of the UNC, UConn, and Uof L game and the media frenzy which accompanies each game. Although many of the SEC games will have TV coverage you have to figure in the rigors the SEC schedule which includes travel and 9:30 games against teams its going to be hard to get up for. Combine that with the fact these freshmen have never had to go through that with the fact they are teenagers and life is not always perfect, they are going to get tested physically, emotionally, and mentally. They are still not as good as they are going to be in March and this schedule along with Cals outstanding leadership will make them tougher in all of those categories. Lets not get too tore up if they drop a few games along the way.
  17. Another close loss for the Panthers. While I think this team is highly capable of winning the district despite their record I really hate this for the kids. This team is really to talented to have the record they do. They continue to find a way to beat themselves. I would love to see them share the ball the way the freshmen team does. They are really fun to watch as they play for each other by just sharing the ball and playing hard every possesion. I challenge you to come watch them play. Boys your career is about over value each possession and every game and bring that intensity your coaches display and that passion that each of you have inside you and good things will happen fast. Beacuse in a few short weeks you will never step foot on the court again with each other.
  18. Negative, the attendees at this showcase were voted on by the respective regions coaches. It is similar to the East/West All Star game in which I believe 2 players and an alternate are selected. In addition to the players mentioned for the Sophomore showcase, the players selected for the east/west all star game that will return this season are: Russell from Anderson County Pelphry from Grant County Craig from Carroll County (alternate) I am pretty certain these are correct, I apologize if I am mistaken. Sounds like alot of returning talent to the 8th region it should be a fun season. It will also be fun to see what new names emerge this season. Good Luck to all teams and most of all I hope all the kids can stay injury free.
  19. Jerry Clower, Wendy Bagwell, and Ill have to admit a little Gene Tracy. How is that for extreme opposites.
  20. I read some very disturbing things as a big fan of this show. Sounds like season 5 is going to be the last year for FNL. I also read that Riggins will only be on there about half of the time. While this is still my favorite show, I am not crazy about a couple of the story lines. The whole Julie thing, while I do like her the story line is boring. Landry is like on of the main characters and I am not much on him or the story lines.
  21. Whatever the philosophy is it starts with building fundamentals at a young age. In order to achieve success year after year you have to build your feeder programs. Just like Major League baseball uses the Minor Leagues to develop their talent. It is very difficult to undo bad habits when a player has been doing things the wrong way for years.
  22. What if this Freshman class at UK committed to stay until they graduated because they love the program so much.
  23. Does anyone else have to remind themselves that Coach Taylor is not Buddy Jackson from Pure Country? I really like Coach Taylor but despised Buddy Jackson.
  24. What is the deal with skipping a week, they do this all of the time? Heard Smash mentioned while Coach Taylor was watching TV, I wonder if this means we could be seeing him soon?
  25. This was a really great game to watch as a fan. Both teams really played hard and showed great sportsmanship throughout. Maybe not the highest profile game in the state but a game like this is what its all about. Intense coaching on both sides as well. :thumb:
