Good Luck to Bethlehem at Applebees they do what good teams do they captialized on Carroll County errors and other mistakes. Carroll put themselves in postion a couple times to tie or take the lead and Bethlehem made the plays or pitches they needed to.

The sectional game has to be completed by the 25th.

Who is in the 5th Region all A finals and where is it played?

More realistic game than the 12-0 score last time. Good job of Hendrick coming through to score DC from second base in the 9th. Top of the line up continues to carry this team. DC was 3-4 and reached base all 5 times last night and Tyler not only pitched well but hit like he is capable of hitting. May be a good time to look at filling a couple holes in this lineup to prepare for all A.

Depends on the definition of enough ? Enough to win all these games, if they do then pencil them in to Applebees for the state championship. Enough to compete day to day? If they can do this and remain competitive they are a strong team. Enough to last 5 innings in most of these games would say alot about the team as a whole. Not only do they need the good pitching but the defense has to be solid enough to not give away outs. If the defense can get outs on plays they should make and minmize the pitch counts that will help. This is the case with any team, but with this schedule if you dont make the routine plays it could get ugly quick. Having said that hats off to Owen for scheduling these games. If the Rebels can handle the mental side of this if it doesnt go their way they will be a much better team come tournament time.

Playing really well, hitting around .500 and playing several postions including pitcher. He had not pitched since 8th grade and has thrown a couple of 2 hitters in 3 outings so far. John Jones has done a great job with the staff and it will be interesting to see if he pitches any this summer.

That is a very true statement but the first two games of the tournament were closer than the score indicated especially early in the game. Carroll and Trimble were tied at zero until a Craig solo hr made it 1-0 . Carroll did get a little breathing room an inning or two later but that game was played with intensity till the final out. The Williamstown game was even tighter early due to the fact Williamstown led 4-2. A Wise GS HR did in fact provide a little breathing room. However Carroll committed several errors but the pitching held on long enough only surrendering two hits the entire game. The championship was never in doubt as Carroll was the visiting team and jumped out 3-0 after one inning. Hendrick and the defense was able to get the job done in the field. The bats once again came alive making it a little easier to breathe but we are not used to doing anything easy and the coaching staff knew that and was able to keep everyone focused on the way to the championship.

Have to give the credit to John F Jones III for what he has done for this pitching staff. For those that do not know he is Coach Jay Jones Father. He has developed kids who have not pitched for years as well as continued to improve the entire staff from the Freshman level to the varsity level. He also brings discipline and commands that the players respect the game as well. Congratulations and thanks for bringing pride back to Carroll County Baseball.

Carroll County wins the All A Region behind solid pitching defeating Trimble, Williamstown, and Henry. All Tournament Team Allen, Wise, Craig, and Hendrich who was named tournament MVP.

Not sure about exact stats but Carroll played some really good defense today while some of the bats struggled. Zach looked really good at third today . Jesse pitched great game today and the rest of the defense played really well for the most part. Dc had a couple hits one being the home run and another RBI late. Matt had a big hit late and scored on the screamer Zach hit at the second baseman. Maybe CCHS dad has the official stats. Pitching set up well for the All A final 4 on Sat.

Is Williamstown returning alot of players? What kind of record do they have this season? Who are some of their big wins? Not doubting your prediction at all just curious because we did not get to play them due to rain.

You have 2 posts in your life, why would you come on here and start slamming something that obviously you dont even have a stake in. The All A has became a very prestigious tournament in both Baseball and Basketball. Take a look at the venues hosting the finals EKU and Applebees Park and you want to call this a joke? Well to the kids playing the game it would be an honor to be able to advance and play at either of these facilities.

I think Zach had 4 hits scored 3 times and a couple steals great game 2-5 DC had a double and a single and was HBP also he and Chris had big rbi in the late innings. Solid pitching from Proctor and Allen. Total different attitude on this team this year. Plus the cats got Calapari !!!!!!!!!! LIFE IS GOOD!!!:dancingpa:ylsuper::banana::clap:

Harrison must be swingin the bat well early to hit 90mph plus pitching in March.

As discussed in an earlier thread if we are truly concerned about the student athlete this cuts down on the travel during week night games. Plus it is called a district for a reason, to keep teams close geographically this is good. However I do agree with the districts being loaded but the same could be said for some regions as well. Its great to hear all of the opinions either way.

Kinda like this : Grant, Williamstown, Walton, and Owen. Carroll, Henry, Trimble, Gallatin, and Eminence. Oldham, South Oldham, North Oldham, and Shelby. Anderson, Frankfort, Franklin, Western Hills, and Spencer.
