8th Region Class A Tournament

Featured Replies

The 8th Region Class A Tournament starts tomorrow (weather permitting). Is there a favorite this year or is it like the basketball tournaments - wide open...

Are there brackets? Where is it held?

I think Williamstown will win the Class A from the 8th Region.

Now that is quite a stretch. :idunno:

The 8th region Class A teams are a joke. I mean really, you are talking about Eminence, Walton, Wtown, Henry, Gallatin, etc. The only decent teams in the 8th are Shelby and Anderson. I guarantee you the 8th region final is played by those two.

Did you read the thread title? It's about the Class "A", it has nothing to do about Shelby or Anderson.

Really..........Shelby lost to an "A" team last year in the Region. That being a 6-5 win against Henry County. The Rockets only played 1 "A" team in a 4-0 win against Gallatin County last year, and only have one scheduled this year being the Eminence game from earlier this year. Anderson County only played 1 "A" team all last year in Owen County in the regular season and only have them (Owen) on the schedule this year. They lost to Lloyd Memorial last year, a 9th Region "A" team. As of this post, Anderson has lost 2 of 8 games and Shelby 3 of 8.

Just because these teams play a schedule that doesn't include the "A" schools, don't think that there isn't good hard baseball being played here.

Couldn't have said it better myself, Buttels!!!!!:dancingpa:taz:

You have 2 posts in your life, why would you come on here and start slamming something that obviously you dont even have a stake in. The All A has became a very prestigious tournament in both Baseball and Basketball. Take a look at the venues hosting the finals EKU and Applebees Park and you want to call this a joke? Well to the kids playing the game it would be an honor to be able to advance and play at either of these facilities.

Is Williamstown returning alot of players? What kind of record do they have this season? Who are some of their big wins? Not doubting your prediction at all just curious because we did not get to play them due to rain.

Tournament location has been moved to Carroll Co. due to bad field condition from all of the rain.

In baseball, you could face a team's ace on a day when your bats are cold in the first round of the districts, and your season is over. The best "teams" don't necessarily always win in a 1 and done scenario. However, it does give the schools with a smaller talent pool a chance to compete at a high level.
