That is pretty impressive, Good Luck to Gallatin tonight, I would love to see a Carroll vs. Gallatin Regional Final.

He had an RBI today and ya the injury is fine, nothin a little green ice pack wouldn't take care of.

It was an exciting finish, had we played it at home we would have called it Carrollton County.:dancingpa

Possibly the biggest play of the game was a tremendous running catch by Cody Boles on a ball hit deep in the RCF gap. This happened in Oldhams sixth inning rally and although a runner tagged and scored from third there was also a runner on first who had to retreat because he was already to second when the ball was caught.

Carroll 4 Oldham 3, seat still available for those wanting to jump back on the bandwagon.

If there has been a total team victory for Carroll County this year it was this game. Every in the lineup for Carroll made positive contributions to this victory. To be able to come from behind in the last inning after losing the lead in the sixth, says alot about this team. Hendrick pitched 5 outstanding innings before Oldham could do any damage. Oldham struck for 3 in the 6th taking a 3-2 lead into the seventh but a walk and a throwing error allowed the tying run to score and the winning run to advance to third. The go ahead run scored on Zach Wises' second RBI of the day. Wise was also able to come in and shut down Oldham in the 7th 1,2,3.

In an earlier thread you stated Carroll was favorite to win the 8th, one loss and your off the bandwagon?

Ask Oldham county what happened to them when they left their ace standing in centerfield 2 years ago in the first round against Carroll County.

Craig, Wise, and Allen made it for Carroll. Although Proctor did not make it he definately pitched well enough to win last night.

So who was the #1 for OC, Neely or Cox? IF it was Cox why did he not start the game against Gallatin?

CC made the plays when they had to last night especially when HC threatened with runners on 2nd and 3rd and no one out. CC recorded the first out going 5-2 on a tag play at the plate then turned the 4-6-3 Dp to end the threat. CC also has some very big AB's last night, a couple of 8 or 9 pitch AB's. Henry really tried to keep CC off balance with the breaking ball all night. In one sequence I think they threw one batter 8 or 9 straight curve balls. Hendrick helped himself with an RBI shot in the gap and DC Craig was 3-4 with 2 RBI and Tyler Gross had a 2 or 3 hits as well depending on the official scorer. Many other players throughout the lineup stepped up as well having key hits, including Zach Wise who led the game off and scored on DC's double in the first inning. Anytime HC threatened it was good to know the man child was on the hill, he has stepped up all year.

Not taking anything away from Anderson but I think going in they were favorites to win the region along with Shelby. Both teams had players mentioned for best possible player in the region as well. So if you look at that they are doing what they are supposed to do basically meeting expectaions. Again not taking anything away from either team, I truly feel they are the teams to beat in the Regional tourney. If you look at what CC has done this year regardless of who they have played its remarkable. CC is currently undefeated in the region and has won the All A region, the NCKC tournament and is one game from a district championship. If a coach cannot win coach of the year after rebuilding this team the way he has it would be a disappointment. However at the end of the day its really just great to see Carroll County playing the way they are capable of playing.

So what is the difference in just signing to play for a school vs signing to play for their JV. Will he be on the Varsity team at some point ? Good luck to the man child:thumb:

Could not help but start a thread on this but I would like to be the first to sincerely congratulate Jay Jones on his return to Carroll County Baseball. One would think he would receive serious consideration for 8th region coach of the year with a record of 21-4-1. Great Job.:thumb:

Carroll had 2 home runs there last night one by DC Craig (5) and one by Matt Allen(3) to left center field. What made me curious was Craig hit a fly ball out to deep center that probably traveled farther than the home runs. My guess is the field is mayber 310 down the lines 350 in the gaps and possibly 375 or greater to center.

Are the tentative regional brackets available yet? Carroll has to play Henry for the 4th time this season in the opening round of district play. All but one of these games have been very close which should make for a great game. By the way South Oldham has a nice field, it looks huge, does anyone know the dimensions?

No doubt in my mind Zach Wise of Carroll Co. Has a cannon for an arm, and can play any position on the field. He can also hit for power and average and can flat out fly on the bases and in the outfield. All that plus he loves the game.

Unbeliveable to say the least! It was one of those games where everyone on the bench contributed at some point during the game. Not only the most exciting game I have ever witnessed but maybe the craziest as well. Have to feel bad for Owen, Neely pitched a great game and deserved to win this game. I could write a book on this game but long story short , down 6-1 heading into the seventh Tyler Gross leads the inning off with a homer sparking the rally. In all the excitement I am a bit sketchy on the details but Meadows triples in a run then scores on a Home Run by DC Craig. Hendrick and Kenny Welch reach base and then Proctor comes up with a big infield hit and a wild throw scores the tying and go ahead runs. Hendrick come in and slams the door shut picking up the save to go along with the win he had earlier in the day vs. Gallatin. All Tournament Team for Carroll County Proctor Wise Hendrick Craig (MVP)

Wow, what a difference a year makes. We played a summer league game there last year and those pictures look totally different.:thumb:

Owen has to be better than what their defense played. They did not help Neely at all even on the simplest of plays. He actually had Carroll off balance with his breaking pitch early but when you extend a pitcher more than 25 pitches an inning its going to catch up quickly and it did. The JV game looked more like a varsity game than the varsity game did. Some of the JV players could be cracking this line up soon with the way they are playing for Carroll County.

I will not second guess Coach Jones or his Father they are getting this program back to where it needs to be. I am just stating a fact and that was very evident Friday night when Carroll beat Austin Indiana. He can make things happen on the field. This is a good bunch of boys and the coaches continuously challenge them to get better in the smallest of details.

Luke is good but thats almost 8 hits a game playing 30 games a year since you were in 8th grade. Even Pete would be impressed.:scared:
