Anyone seen the Jay Bilas Blog where he breaks down his definition of toughness on the basketball court? It might surprise you, and may not be what you think.

 

I would recommend as a must read for any high school player or coach.

Just finished reading this article. I promptly printed it out and sent it to all of the basketball coaches in my district. I also plan on making this article a homework assignment for my team. I preach and preach to my team about many of things that Bilas said in the article, but he put much better than I ever could. This will be an article that I will save and share with other teams in the future.

A friend sent me this link last week.

 

In reading it over, I too, felt like it was a must read for our players in providing positive reinforcement for many of the things that we teach and practice on a daily basis. I copied off 30 sets and distributed them to every player in our program.

The players that could really stand to take the article to heart, though, are some of the guys that get paid huge bucks but couldn't set a good pick if their lives depended on it. Anybody got Allen Iverson's email address?

Excellent article! I have to wonder how many players in todays NBA hero world, will make it through the whole thing. Maybe its just me, but it seems like a lot of high school players these days, treats such articles as high school coach propaganda.
