I have a feeling Coach Powers is going to get Meade County better in a hurry. They have been a bottom 1/3 6A team for a few years now. Although going on the road Game 1 vs a decent Dragon squad is a tough ask.

Moeller has played Trinity 11 times over the years. Crusaders have won 7 of those 11. Shamrocks have won 4 of those 11. Teams renew a 2-year home and home series this fall. At Moeller in 2025 (game to be played at Mt St Joseph University). At Trinity in 2026.

I should have clarified STATE championship round/s in the 1st paragraph above.

The KHSAA receives and retains ticket revenue in the post season from any sanctioned sport ONLY during the championship round/s. All ticket revenue for the District and Region rounds (from any sport) remains at the local level. The various District and Region administrations and/or tournament committees determine how that revenue is distributed at the local level.

My take after watching today’s scrimmage in person. Rocks will be fine. But very much a work in progress. What I liked - WRs and DBs are going to be strong with depth. QB moves better than last year and can make any throw on the field. Timing with WRs will come. DL is stout on the run and on upfield push. What I think can get much better - OL was not good “together”; 3 guys would block well on a play and 2 guys would get beat. Never felt they had a drive where OL controlled the line of scrimmage. LBs need to fill gaps better and run sideline to sideline better. Too many plays where Springfield should have been stopped 4 yards or less but got 5 to 8 yards on the play. All in all a good experience today vs a strong opponent.

So much for Highlands “running all over Male”.

If you only knew the ebbs and flows of the JCPS turf field project over the last 2 to 3 years. No surprise at all.

Should by 80 degrees and sunny on the Springfield HS campus at 11:30 am tomorrow morning. Can’t wait.

I am curious to watch Watson tomorrow vs this high level of competition. Campbellsville level opponents when he last took the field and now Springfield, Ohio large school state runner up 3 of the last 4 seasons.

KHSAA rules allow a 3 hour “scrimmage window”, no matter the format, and that includes F, JV and Varsity action. So whatever format is used, they will need to stop at 10 pm.

And the KHSAA simply allows this moving around trying to join a school like it is an AAU program???

Very few teams can “just run over Male”. I don’t think Highlands makes that list- even in a scrimmage.
