  1. Another reason not to second guess what you think are coaching decisions. Things are not always what they seem!
  2. Agreed! Kaleb Cole is a huge talent and NCC's bread and butter ball carrier! And Campbellsville knew it too! No doubt they were looking for him to get the needed yardage and he may or may not have done that. This team is special in that there are a number of weapons who could gain yardage and score on any given touch. Cole, Miles, Collopy, Bevins, Ford and others. If you were at their games or review the stats the evidence is there. And all 11 offensive and defensive players worked together for the good of the team! Second guessing the coaches is truly 20/20 hindsight. You are entitled to your opinion, but no one and I mean NO ONE but the coaches (of NCC or any team) have watched the hours upon hours of film, know the kids' capabilities, and spent an incredible amount of time practicing, teaching them what to do in different situations, and helping develop great young men. All these hours guide the coaching decisions that must made in split seconds or minutes. What a gift it would be to have the luxury of knowing beforehand the outcome of each decision made. For these coaches AND players this was a heartbreaking loss! I will speak for myself and I'm certain others, when I say, the Thoroughbred faithful are very proud of this team!
  3. I know both these coaches and greatly respect their contributions and successes with their teams and Northern KY high school football! With that being said, I am certain that both of them are thoroughly preparing their players and they will be ready to battle!
  4. Campbell has 5 district championships in football since 1970. The last two came in 2011 and 2012 during Lickert’s tenure. Also, since 1991 Campbell has had one very rare win against Highlands. It came during Lickert’s tenure in 2016.
  5. I worked in low income school districts nearly 40 years and do not believe there is a reason to consider family income when determining classification. Students must take advantage of the opportunities they have in the schools they attend. A student athlete's potential, determination and hard work all factor into success. Educators/coaches must teach kids that success is possible no matter where you grow up!
  6. Best of luck Coach Parks!! Prove the naysayers wrong!
  7. Congratulations Coach Cronin! Great man!!! Great program!!!
  8. 1997 State runner-up included players Jared Lorenzen and Derek Smith.
  9. Congrats Bluebirds Basketball Team, Coach Listerman and coaches, winning the KY state basketball title for the first time in school history!
  10. Highlands has broken the tournament record for 3 pointers which was held by Trinity.
  11. Red Dog was a great man and is the epitome of Highlands Football!
  12. It's sad, but when the quest for power becomes the most important factor in the decision making process, many people are hurt. Good luck to Coach Clevenger!
  13. I get what you are saying, but if the principal and other administrators were part of the coach's firing, they could make his life pretty miserable. Just wondering if it would be worth it to Coach Clevenger to remain Danville's coach, or move on.
  14. After the seemingly unfair treatment this man has experienced, is there a chance that he would even consider returning to work for the same administration?
  15. It must make you feel good about yourself to sit behind a made up name and anonomously talk trash about a person! Sad!
  16. The program under Mueller was a huge success. Why wouldn't he have recommended the number 2 guy to work to continue that success? There is no crystal ball to predict the success of a person. Also, there is no guarantee. With that being said, we can only hope that the HHS principal makes a fact based, logical, unbiased decision for the future of Bluebird Football!
  17. I am thankful that the KHSAA really considered the requests and concerns of the people who had contacted them.
  18. In regards to attendance, why not ask for a percentage of the amount of people the venue holds. Say 50% which would equal the number of people allowed in bars and restaurants. Then allow the players, coaches to purchase the tickets they need for their family members and the rest can be sold to students and fans in school and at the gates. First come first serve. In my opinion people outside of their own family units will be willing to social distance while watching the contest and most people interested would likely be able to attend.
  19. Here are the facts. Campbell has had 10 playoff wins since 1990. 6 were in this decade. 2010- they beat George Rogers Clark, 2011- they beat Tates Creek, 2012- they beat Dunbar, 2013- they beat Pleasure Ridge Park, 2016-they beat Madison Central and 2017- they beat Eastern.
  20. Kelly went out of the game against Scott about halfway into the third quarter. The score was 21-0 at the time.
  21. I don't know how coaches can do one without the other. Obviously they need to develop the talent that walks through the door, but also continue to do things that generate interest in the program.
  22. It is a sad state of affairs. We are in the midst of a complete lack of respect for anyone in authority. Look at what is going on with our police officers. Even if you disagree with the way you are treated, violence is not the answer. Everyone involved in this should be punished and that includes charges against players and coaches. We cannot allow this sort of behavior to continue!
  23. Many NKY teams are struggling this year, from the traditional powerhouses to the teams working to earn respect. It’s tough to stay positive when nothing seems to be going right. Just a few thoughts: • Your coaches aren’t happy about losing either. In fact, they are most likely working their butts off, spending an incredible number of hours watching film, planning, practicing and meeting to make changes to right the ship. • As a parent or supporter of a player, the best thing you can do to help is to remind your child to give 110% in practice and games. Encourage them to work to get better to be able to help the team, being at practice on time, knowing the plays, learning techniques, staying eligible and supporting their teammates. Criticism of other players and coaches only undermines the morale and goals of the team. • The posts on this website under the cover of user names allow those with agendas to make negative and sometimes downright nasty comments about teams and coaches they don’t like. But it’s like a train wreck, you just have to look. So, if you’re a player, parent, or fan, and you must read, then use the negativity as motivation to help make your situation better in a positive way. “You're either part of the solution or you're part of the problem.” Eldridge Cleaver
