Perhaps a topic for another thread, but Eddie Eviston has to be the first call to replace him.

From what I have been told by Sources very close to Bob is that he has no Interests in Coaching College Football. He feels like his Coaching Duty is Coaching High School kids. He has been heard saying that his High School coach basically saved Bob's life when he was young when Bob lost his Father and feels High School is where he belongs. He want's to give back the same way his HS Coach gave back to him. He has had several opportunities outside of Coaching as a Grad Assistant at WKU back in the day to coach on the Collegiate level but has chose not to. Coach Sphire is not leaving Ft Thomas for Georgetown College. And he's at Highlands. He's been also been heard saying several times over the years that he was only coming back to Ky for One job and One job only. And here we are.

You sure that job would be significantly better than his job at Cov Cath? I imagine with all things included he's doing ok.

And I bet he is shocked that it's not the same Highlands he coached against.

If your goal is to be a college coach, then yes it is.  Georgetown competes in one of the toughest if not THE toughest NAIA conferences in the country.  The big negative could be uprooting his kids at this stage of their schooling.

I seriously doubt he is shocked.....he wouldn't have needed to be hired if Highlands was still where they were when Bob coached against them.

I chose the path of coaching football for a number of reasons, but the biggest reason is because of my coaches that I have had along the way. Every man I've ever looked up to in my life was a coach of mine.

Coach Cronin is my coach.

I had bigger offers, but meeting with him made up my mind. When I committed to be a Tiger, I never looked back and I never once thought of leaving. Coach Cronin and his many different assistants over the years built a very special culture on that small campus. I still live my entire life the Tiger Way.

I learned something every time I talked to the man, and still do. Coach Cronin is remarkably consistent in every thing he coaches, preaches and teaches his players. He embodies The Rock that sits in that end zone. So much so, that all the success and tradition of the last 25 years will not be easily forgotten, discarded or erased, regardless of who tries to fill his shoes.

I am thankful for every opportunity Coach Cronin has ever given me. That starts with my very first coaching job, a long time ago, at a summer camp when I had not even put on the Orange and Black yet. He instilled in me the unshakeable belief that if you devote all of yourself to something, you will be rewarded. His incredible commitment to Tiger Football is why my life revolves around my football program now. 

Thank you Coach Cronin, good luck in a retirement that you have earned, and Tiger Pride.

I would have to imagine that anyone who has ever coached hopes to have this kind of impact.    Really well said, man.
