  1. Win or lose, I think Corbin is the most improved team in 2A from week 1 to now. This team wasn't ranked at all in the preseason. I feel like they are no worse than thr 3rd best team nowa, behind NCC and O Cath.
  2. Now when you're talking about "getting more people involved" are you talking on the field, or off???
  3. Wasn't questioning Highlands past accomplishments, just stating a fact that Tom Larkey has been here before. No, HC isn't HHS, and probably never will be. Fortunately for HC, HHS's rich tradition alone will not produce the W friday night. However, scheme, execution, heart and desire will. Having followed Larkey and Mueller for years, I know those attributes 1ill always apply to teams led by these men. That's why I expect a good football game on friday. I don't have a dog in the fight, just calling what I see!!
  4. One thing about it, this will be a hard hitting football game.
  5. They may not need a nickel. Depends on if the have an Ace in the hole. If HC can turn HHS over and find a way to run the ball, they have a chance. Outside of that, HHS is definetly the favorite.
  6. So if you want to use that as the logic, consider what you're inferring: According to Riherds, Bell County Beat: Sep 17, 10 Johnson Central home 42 - 18 (W) Oct 29, 10 Harlan County away 35 - 0 (W) We saw last night that Highlands is 7 points better than JC. So using Bell Co. as the common demoinator, Bell beat JC by 24 points and HC by 35. So using your suggested theory, JC is 11 points better than HC. So you could say that Highlands should be 18 points better In all seriousness, I'm not sure it would be safe to predict such a blowout. Larkey has been there, done that with HHS.
  7. Crisp is a tough kid. Corbins backers were teeing off on him- often untouched by blockers yet he got up and never quit. That takes character! Is he a senior?
  8. Total domination by Corbin's Defense tonight. Gave up 1 TD on a long pass, but other than that they played on Prestonsburgs side of the football all night long. Jamerson caught a TD late against Corbin's reserve unit. Corbin's offense took advantage of Prestonsburgs mistakes and ran the ball very well tonight. Congrats to Prestonsburg on a fine season, and we pray for traveling mercy on the long ride home.
  9. Corbin is going to be content to grind it out on the ground now. 10 min left. Corbin 41 Prestonsburg 7.
  10. Mitchell Frederick takes it in for 6. 35 to 7 Corbin. Pburg fumbles, Corbin recovers. 23 ticks left. TD Corbin!!! On first down, Cobb to Foley for about a 50 yd TD pass. 41-7 Redhounds. Corbin making a statement tonight.
  11. Haftime!!! Corbins D looking impressive. I'd like to know the halftime stats but Pburgs quarterback is taking a beating so far. 2 sacks in a row to end the half for the Redhounds. Pburg needs big adjustments or this could get ugly. Corbin is getting backers to the ball untouched.
  12. TD Corbin again!!!! 28 to 7 Corbin. 52 seconds till half. Foley took the handoff, pulled up and threw it to a wide open Taylor for 6!! Beautiful!!
  13. TD Corbin!!! 21-7 Redhounds lead late in 2nd qtr.
  14. Corbin has ran for 2 tds and pburg broke a long pass for a td. Corbin is living in pburgs backfield thus far...
  15. Absolutely. If Corbin cannot stop the run with 6 or 7 it will be a long night for them. Prestonsburgs spead O is too good to not drop a few extras into coverage.
  16. If Prestonsburg does sell out to the run and plays 1 on 1 on the corners, I like Corbins chances. Willard Farris has a lot of options in that situation, and he is a slick play caller. Can't imagine Prestonsburgs D coordinators playing that way for 4 quarters, but we will see.
  17. Exactly, which is why Bellbocats previous statement is unwarranted, accusatory and unfounded...Which led to a reminder that those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks. Now back to Corbin/LCA...
  18. Pot calling the kettle black???? I remember a playoff game between Bell Co. and Highlands a few years back. Hadn't rained in 3 weeks in all of Bell County. I guess the sprinkler's broke and couldn't be turned off.....LOL
  19. I get what you're saying, but at each respective school, you've also got to consider how many of those NFL products were 4 star or better. The level of talent you land has a direct correllation to number of players in the NFL.
  20. What is wrong with him? He was sucessful at Leslie, had some good teams at Corbin, and Christian Co. was always competitive under him.
  21. As a Corbin Alum, I hope they do not split Corbin/Bell. This game should always happen. Having district implications only makes it better.
  22. Plus, Bell Co. lost the Corbin series, which imo has hurt Corbin tremendously.
