Corbin lost twice early to two good teams but they have been rolling ever since. Additionally they play at home Friday night against the Breds. Is this the week #1 NCC goes down to the Redhounds? Or will NCC roll through town on their way to the finals?

 

On paper this looks like a really competitive game.

I expect a very good game. Corbin is really clicking on all cylinders right now. If NCC wins, it will be because they earned it and was the better team that night. Should be a cold but fun one down off of Roy Kidd Ave.

I am pulling for the Redhounds in this one but I think that NCC will be too much for Corbin. I think that it will be close in the 1st half and NCC will pull away in the 2nd. Prove me wrong Corbin.

That has been the pattern the last couple of times Corbin played them, it seems like their depth wore on Corbin in the second half, although Corbin is a little deeper this year.

This NewCath team is completely different than the past two that you saw. They rely on brawn much more than years past. Last night NewCath had 1 penalty and 1 TO. Both had been achilles heels. Hopefully they continue with that discipline. Corbin will have to throw to win this one. Also they will have to run wide. NewCath has owned the middle of the box against everyone that they have played this year. That includes Ryle. Everyone knows that Corbin is going to bring the wood all night. If NewCath doesn't match that intensity than Corbin wins. If NewCath plays like they did last night, then I like their chances. But for God's sake, cover a kick. They can't give Corbin the fiels position that they gave up last night

One thing about it, this will be a hard hitting football game.

NCC rolls!! They are huge up front and have a really nice group of skilled players...GO BREDS!!

As for NewCath, this team is playing as good as any team that I have seen for NewCath...ever. I have been watching NewCath since '91 and I can't think of a team that dominates the line like this one.

Win or lose, I think Corbin is the most improved team in 2A from week 1 to now. This team wasn't ranked at all in the preseason. I feel like they are no worse than thr 3rd best team nowa, behind NCC and O Cath.

The 3-4 hour bus trip may be NCC's first big hurdle in this game, as it is for any traveling team. Last year's game at Desales, IMO NCC came out flat, and never recovered. This team's farthest trip has been 30 miles to Ryle. If the game is at 7-7:30, when do you start your day? Where do you eat dinner? How long do you get to the game site before the game to shake off the stiffness, and exuastion from the trip? Those are just the questions I have for me, and the three people in my car. This might be Coach Ed's biggest calls of the year. How do you work this into your game plan?

Corbin in the past two years have had one, maybe two "star" type players. Everyone keyed on these players and were able to stop the run and/or passing game. This year Corbin has an abundance of options . . . no one player stands out in any game . . . ALL players step up and contribute . . . this makes it difficult to key on players and opens up a lot of options for the Redhounds. I like Corbin's chances this year . . . keep it going boys, play with heart and determination . . . you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. GO HOUNDS!!!!!
