Pulled up the KHSAA stats through last week (not including the Pulaski County Regional final win) and saw some interesting stats for Harlan Couunty (10 - 2 Record (wins - losses), 3583 Total Rushing Yards, 819 Total Rushing Yards Allowed, 443 Total Passing Yards, 1148 Total Passing Yards Allowed.

These stats seem to indicate that Harlan is a run 1st and run 2nd team, averaging around 35 yards passing per game.

Should be a good one.

I doubt this will be close. JC is a great one-dimensional offense and they were shut down by the HHS D. No way Harlan puts up enough points to win.

Well it looks like HHS better get the mudders out of storage this week. I guess we will be renting Lights from Art's Rental Tool to light up Death Valley. Looks like the Ft Thomas Fire Department will be busy this week as well.....

I don't think this one will be very close. JC is a much better run team than HC and the Birds offense should roll in this one.

Highlands- 42

Harlan Co- 7

So Harlan Co shouldn't even play the game? Same was said about Pulaski Co, Guess we'll have to see..

Thanks for remembering me T-Bird!

A buddy of mine that I work with said Pulaski Co has a really good offense, but their defense is suspect, to say the least.

No disrespect to Pulaski, but I find it hard to believe they have a better offense or defense than Highlands.

Outside of Johnson Central, teams from eky and southern ky haven't fared too well against the Birds over the years.

Not a lot of respect given to the Black Bears on here. Hope those poor mountain boys can keep it respectable against the mighty Bluebirds. Don't be surprised if that 4 1/2 hour drive plays a role in this one also.

It shouldn't it's the day after Thanksgiving..

Big difference between Pulaski and Highlands not to say that upsets dont happen but this will be a whole different animal than Pulaski. Especially on defense. JC had one offensive touchdown. Good luck putting points on the board against Highlands D.

I don't think anyone is discounting Highlands. They're consistently one of the top teams in the state. But, you don't get to the state semifinals by being mediocre. HC's defense is pretty solid as well. Should be a good game.

A 4 1/2 drive is still a 4 1/2 hour drive no matter when you leave. That will take a lot out of them, especially on a bus.

With the bus breaking down yesterday, the drive to JC was about that long....The HHS D fared pretty well last night.

Harlan Co. is a program on the upswing. It was anounced yesterday that a million dollar private contribution will allow them to finally complete their sports complex. With Coach Larkey at the helm, this will be program to be reckoned with in the future.
