As many have stated before, we so need a sarcasm font. There are some guys on another site who constantly refer to their LB as Jesus Christ. I just did not want anyone to think HC people were that arrogant.

We saw last night that Highlands is 7 points better than JC. So using Bell Co. as the common demoinator, Bell beat JC by 24 points and HC by 35.

 

So using your suggested theory, JC is 11 points better than HC.

 

So you could say that Highlands should be 18 points better

 

In all seriousness, I'm not sure it would be safe to predict such a blowout. Larkey has been there, done that with HHS.

 

Larkey may have, but I can assure you HC has never seen a program like Highlands. When it comes to playoffs and State Championships, how should I say this? , well Highlands has been there and done that. LOL Go Birds 20n10

Aside from the fact that I think Highlands is the best team, I think they will win becuase they are highlands and that is what they do. They have been in this situation before, and it is safe to say they have beaten teams just as good or better becuase they have a mystic about them. There is no denying that. Johnson Central is starting to get over that but they have had several chances at them. Harlan has not been in this situation before and no matter how good their coach is ( and he is great) he almost is spotting HHS a TD or two before they get off the bus.

 

I never thought I would see a post like this from perhaps (not sure if you are or not) not a Highlands fan. Or maybe, just maybe, you personally were on the end of one of those HS football games against Highlands back in the day. Its ok if this is the case as Highlands has the upmost respect for each and every opponent and at the end of the day Highlands gets the same respect in return with comments like yours. Blazer gets it. Go Birds 20n10

I'm not saying Harlan will beat Highlands, Check the poll...

 

I hope that Highlands football team comes to Harlan County thinking the same as the fans, Things will change when the whistle blows. Harlan hasn't seen a team as good as the Black Bears in 20+ years, I played football and had my fair share of getting my eyes beat shut...And I'm speaking as a player when I say that fans can come on here and try to bully other fans and players with their " Nobody will come within 4 TDs of this Highlands Team ", Let the boys play the game, All you can do is sit on your butt and cheer....

 

Back to the topic, Harlan Co. will face the best team they have seen to date, But I refuse to sit here and say that Harlan Co. will have their eyes beat shut....To be honest with ya, I could see this team sending Highlands back north with a loss....Just let them play the game, Anyone can internet bully, But what you have to think has nothing to do with how the game is played on the field...

Do you honestly think Dale Mueller is going to sleep on Larkey and Da Bears... I don't think so..He wouldn't have that many State Championships under his belt if he slept on his competiton. If you didn't know this by now this is what Highlands lives for..The Birds will be ready, mark it down..:ylsuper:

I am only a Highlands fan in the respect that I have for their coaching staff and the way the kids play and respect the game. I had the displeasure of seeing them dismantle my favorite team, did I hate them for that NO, did I hate that my team lost YES but they lost to a team that was better than them. It happens that way, only one team in 5A has their season end they way they want it to. Many fans don't like HHS becuase they win, I like them becuase they do, and they have done it for a LONG time, going way way way back. I can respect that. And should Harlan win the game, the Black Bears should relish it, because they will have beaten a team that "gets it"

I am not sure. There are a few. I would say 6 or 7 -- could be more. Someone else would have to tell you. I can't remember. That has been a few weeks ago.

I would love for ours and yours(Freshman) to play just to see how we could compete. Nobody came within 40 of our freshmen...

 

Regarding this main thread: stamina will be my first question, and how many players for Corbin Varsity go two ways. I have a good feeling that lack of being there and lack of numbers will be too much for the Bears. Birds by at least 2 TDS. As far as the Freshman, I feel pretty confident the Birds Frosh would at least be able to stay on the same field as the Frosh Bears. Here is a small taste of the Baby Birds, in No. Ky. Frosh Championship, I found from a prior post.

The Black Bears defense is playing with a lot of energy and confidence. I don't know anything about HHS other than what I have read on here and heard from the past so I know it will not be easy!
