Not that it matters on this thread but Birds Frosh scored over 380 pts and only gave up like 70 this season and beat all the big 6A schools like Ryle, Conner, Boone Co and Simon Kenton. Come Again.......

So using your suggested theory, JC is 11 points better than HC.

Dale is the best in the business at getting his kids ready to play. I guarantee Dale was not to happy with what happened last time he faced Larkey in 2002. He is like an elephant he never forgets...The Birds will not have a let down..

Aside from the fact that I think Highlands is the best team, I think they will win becuase they are highlands and that is what they do. They have been in this situation before, and it is safe to say they have beaten teams just as good or better becuase they have a mystic about them. There is no denying that. Johnson Central is starting to get over that but they have had several chances at them. Harlan has not been in this situation before and no matter how good their coach is ( and he is great) he almost is spotting HHS a TD or two before they get off the bus.

Harlan hasn't beaten anyone of any count. Also the fans and players for Harlan haven't seen the kind of speed and the skill players Highlands has. 45-7 Birds roll!

I don't think this one will be very close. JC is a much better run team than HC and the Birds offense should roll in this one.

I have some bad news for some of you folks that are saying Johnson Cent is the only team in the mnts that can hang with the birds. I have seen both JC and HC and I will tell you that HC is ever bit as good as JC. Although Highlands has this great tradition they are not the same Highlands that we have seen the last couple of yrs. That team last yr may have been the best team I have ever seen at the state games. With that said ,I say the final will be 21-14 in favor of the Bears.

 

As to the bolded part above, these boys have heard that all year. In fact, it is true, but thankfully, this year's Highlands team doesn't have to play past champions, but stand on their shoulders. So, the question isn't if they are as good as the last three championship teams, but are they good enough to beat the remaining competition in 5A. Harlan County, John Hardin and Christian County are all that are left, and the Birds only have to beat two out of the three. I like our chances. Following a 3.5 hour bus ride home last night, and getting to bed well past 2am, the team was back at it today in preparation for next week's game. They will be ready!

 

I have watched the conversation threads since Harlan County opened a few years ago, and have kept up with the progress of your team. It is exciting to see so many things come together in a short time to land the Bears in the State Semi-Finals. Congrats on getting there. I am looking forward to the trip, and seeing your team in action.
