A 4 1/2 drive is still a 4 1/2 hour drive no matter when you leave. That will take a lot out of them, especially on a bus.

 

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope this is not what Harlan is hanging their hat on in an effort to win this game. Dont you know that Highlands sends massage thearapists on all buses and Highlands buses only carry 20 players instead of 47. This is why they travel with 18 buses. LOL. Go Birds 20n10

I don't think anyone is discounting Highlands. They're consistently one of the top teams in the state. But, you don't get to the state semifinals by being mediocre. HC's defense is pretty solid as well. Should be a good game.

It's always somebodies biggest fastest best team ever. Then they shake their heads wondering how that could have happened.

The Birds need to stay focused. No let downs and no mind set this going to be a leisurely stroll through the mountains. HC will come to play and while I am absolutely sure the coaches will have a great game plan I am also sure HC is just not going to rollover. GO BIRDS 20n10!!

Outside of Johnson Central and MAYBE Christian Co, no other 5A team is going to stay within 4 td's of Highlands.

 

I said it in the other thread and I'll say it in this one...the further Highlands' advances, the better they're going to get because it's giving kids that haven't played in a few weeks more time to rest and get healthy.

 

Highlands also showed against JC that depth WILL be a factor in every game they play in. Not sure of the numbers Harlan Co has, but Highlands will have over 100 kids on the sidelines Friday night with 30-35 all seeing action. The two platoon system is a great luxury to have this late in the playoffs.

Not a lot of respect given to the Black Bears on here. Hope those poor mountain boys can keep it respectable against the mighty Bluebirds. Don't be surprised if that 4 1/2 hour drive plays a role in this one also.

Just pointing out that the Pulaski fans said the same thing last year...."Wait until you see this team" and "This team can play with anyone" etc....etc...

I do believe Harlan has a coach that put a running clock on the birds in the past with less talent than he has at Harlan.
