District 1 - Fort Campbell, Heath, Paducah Tilghman, Trigg County, Webster County,

District 2 - Adair County, Edmonson County, Hart County, Monroe County, South Warren

District 3 - Central, Elizabethtown, Henry County, Larue County, Western Hills

District 4 – Bell County, Casey County, Corbin, McCreary Central, Wayne County

District 5 - Bath County, Bourbon County, Estill County, Garrard County, Powell County

District 6 - East Carter, Fleming County, Lewis County, Mason County, West Carter

District 7 - Breathitt County, Jackson County, Knott County Central, Magoffin County, Morgan County

District 8 - Belfry, East Ridge, Lawrence County, Pike County Central, Sheldon Clark

The west will be predictable at the district level.

Ft Campbell and Tilghman will fight for D1.

Monroe, Central and Bell Co should be a given in the other 3 districts.

 

In the east, Mason will be in the semifinals every single year.

Breathitt can sleepwalk through their district.

D8 will be an absolute war with Belfry, Lawrence, Pike Central and Sheldon Clark.

You might throw Trigg in D1 too, overall I think 3A will be the most improved class. Of course it had nowhere to go but up anyways.

I kinda feel sorry for the district 2 guys! It looks like it may be a run between Edmonson and Monroe! Not saying that these are two of the better programs but the past tells a tale...

I am a little confused? Would Mason be in Monroe's Region or would our Region face them in semi?

I am glad FC and Trigg are back in the same district again, never should have been separated.

Based on geography, with so many 3A schools in eastern KY, how would you divide them better without putting Bell and Corbin in the west?

The only thought I would have on this would be putting Casey, Garrard, Wayne, and McCreary in District 4. Put Bell and Corbin into District 5, along with Estill, Powell, and Jackson. Those trips to Louisville and Elizabethtown aren't nearly as long from Lancaster as they are from Corbin and Pineville.

The folks at Garrard County are pretty excited about their placement in Region 3. While Mason County is certainly the class of the region there is a huge void open for a school to become the #2 team. I remember the last alignment when people said Paducah Tilghman would win their region every year, then they missed the playoffs one year and barely beat Russellville the next. Just because a team looks like the best team in the region it certainly doesn't guarantee anything.

The only thought I would have on this would be putting Casey, Garrard, Wayne, and McCreary in District 4. Put Bell and Corbin into District 5, along with Estill, Powell, and Jackson. Looking at the map, geographically, Bell would be much better off in 4A. Their travel wouldn't be nearly as much because there are a lot more 4A teams closer to home. They are sort of on an island in 3A with not many other schools near them.

Bath County was the wildcard; I didn't know they would be playing up. Knowing that now, I would have made it look something like this:
