Where was the game played? If at Corbin, then that would explain the mystery of the clock, seems to happen a lot there.

LCA had many opportunties to win this game. The interception inside the 10 late in the game on a cross field pass was a questionable playcall IMO. If they(LCA) score there the clock issues are not worth mentioning. Both teams played hard and one team had to win. In the end, it will profit both squads, as this game had a post season feel to it. Corbin made their share of miscues as well and their kids overcame it and gained the victory. Best of luck to both teams the rest of the way.

On the last drive, it started at 41 seconds. When LCA snapped the ball and got the first down, the clock still read 41 seconds. So basically LCA got a play where no time ran off of the clock. The one where it ticked down to 12 seconds, it was correctly put back to 18 seconds.

It's been my experience that them there gap-toothed hicks can be pretty crafty at times.

It was terrible clock management and play calling on LCA's part in the last minute that prevented them from mounting any kind of last minute drive. If you do not go out of bounds, throw an incompletion or call a timeout, the clock does not stop.

 

When was there an issue with the clock? I know they set the clock to 18 seconds when it ran down to 14, but I never saw the officials stop the clock on that run towards the opposite sideline from the clock operator, didn't really think he got out of bounds before he went down.

Very sloppy game by both teams, neither team can afford to make that many mistakes 3 or 4 weeks from now. What grade is the LCA QB in? He has a rocket for an arm and runs very well also, just needs to see the field and read coverages better and he will be nearly impossible to stop.

Corbin has played both Hazard and LCA. What do Corbin fans think about the 1a playoff picture?

Game was played at Corbin...clock management and play calling down in the 10 yard line was definitely questionable - especially since LCA was moving the ball with the run and the score was tied - you must call plays to ensure at least some type of score on that possession - an across the field pass was probably not the best of choices. A FG to take the lead should have been the minimally acceptable result - a turnover was the worst case scenario.

 

This was definitely an fun game and exciting game to watch and the kids played hard for both teams - great experience leading into the playoffs for sure. I dont think either team took on injuries - so all is well for these two teams to go deep in the playoffs.

 

Good luck Redhounds - and I also am happy for #12 to have scored on a TD reception to take the lead - he was a heck of a QB the past few years and it was nice to see him be able to have an impact - good athlete and seems to be a great kid too.

Bluto: Corbin, like any other town is comprised of fallable humans, we all are imperfect . . . I doubt the clock issue was planned or calculated. Also, I assure you that I am no gap-toothed hick. I visit my dentist at least twice a year and possess a dazzling smile. I am a bit disappointed that a person that has ties with a Christian school would cast such disparaging remarks. Anyway, the kids played hard on both teams. Good luck to them all in post season play.

LCA had Corbin on their heels on that drive, Corbin was dropping a lot of players in pass coverage and LCA was running very effectively. There is not a lot of space for pass routes down close to the goal and the QB did not see the Corbin defender as he was locked on to his receiver.

 

Roman Mitchell(#12) is a good QB who had a difficult game against Boyle Co., somehow doubt that he's the only QB who has had that problem, then got injured early in the Hazard game and lost the starting job. You are right, he is a good kid and a very good athlete who has handled a very difficult situation and remained a team player.:thumb:
