He coached at Cov Cath for two years just prior to Wirth. It was a bumpy ride.

He also was the head coach at Finneytown (OH) and it was not a bumpy ride there.

Not everybody is from northern Kentucky...I had no clue who he was either. To be honest still don't.

Awe, c'mon. Check some archives and you will remember. Don't stick up for ukfan#1. He knows what he is doing. He's just trying to take the spotlight off SK.

You mean when SK beats Dixie this year 50 to 0? :D

Good luck to Coach Brossart; I believe he will be good for the Dixie program.

I think and hope he'll be good for the Dixie program. I think it's critical that everyone associated with Dixie football give their total support to Coach Brossart, regardless of whether they agreed or disagreed with the hire, and that they give him a reasonable amount of time to have the type of success Dixie can enjoy.

Best of luck to Coach Brossart and the Red Colonels.

The paper noted that Brossart coached Finneytown to their first playoff appearance ever in 2004. Here is a link to the article:

Congrats to Dave.

I hope Dixie gives him time to develop the program.

I am interested to here from those that said Dixie needed changes. He said in the article that he was goign to keep doing the things they had been doing and that he was not going to bring sweeping change. How does everyone feel about that? (not taking sides, just interested to here the thoughts)

Every coach makes changes. Dixie doesn't need "sweeping changes." It needs a new spark. There will certainly be changes.

I'm curious to see what he does with the coaching staff. Does he bring in his own guys, or does he keep the current staff since he has worked with them for 2 years? That is one area I'm sure Dixie supporters are going to watch closely.

Great man from a great family. David brings with him tremendous pride, integrity and honor that will serve him well in this job. Nice to see a Covington kid from the old neighborhood making us all proud!

Good point to discuss nees1212. What did Brossart do at CCH with the staff? Did he add or part ways with anyone? Did anyone he added at CCH stay at CCH?

He had a few staff members that "came with the program" and were kept on, but mostly there was a changeover. If memory serves, some of the staff that Brossart inherited his first year wasn't around for his second. There were a few younger recent alums who were coaching with Brossart that did stay on when Wirth took over.

Best of Luck to Coach Brossart and the Dixie Heights Colonel's football team and program. JD
