While I might not have pinned all of these guys as the next coming of the mentioned players, I will agree with FTBB on the future of the F squad. The talent is there to be a very special team.

How in the world can you even compare future , present and past players with all of the variables ? The experts can't even determine who is the best TEAM in HHS history . :idunno:

 

I'm not the one comparing. I'm saying don't compare anyone to Hamblen...I have watched almost every Highlands football game home & away since 1981 and I would not even attempt to pick a best HHS team ever b/c it is nearly impossible and not really fair to all of the greats before my time etc. I do know that there is nothing better than walking into DCM on a Friday night in the fall. Sometimes I will even park my car at my parents house (on the south side) and walk to the game like I did when I was a kid. Down the driveway past Death Valley under the banner with all the state titles....unlike most I hope for a blowout so I can relax and enjoy the game instead of biting off all my nails. I see many of the stars from years past and can almost see them in uniform. Can't wait til next season!

You walk down memory lane , while I drive from my parents house on the north side of town. I take a ride by St. Catherine of Sienna and still remember the nuns beating the tar out of me .

 

Back to the thread , Hamblen was special , but then you could say that about a lot of Bird players. It's all good , I walk to the game after parking on Indiana Ave , good memories , no doubt. Perhaps this should be another thread , I've always wondered which side of the fort that the best players came from.( The haters will be lining up for this one. )

PREFERRED WALK ON:

 

A player who is promised a roster spot and reports with the scholly players for fall camp a few weeks before classes start. He is not on scholly, but can earn a scholly as they become available.

WALK ON:

 

A football player who joins a college team once classes have started in the fall , and hopes to demonstrate he should be given a roster spot. He is not on scholarship.
