He definitely has the height and feet to be an offensive lineman in college. The offense at Highlands doesnt throw to the TE too often so I dont know if this will be a position that will showcase his pass catching abilities. I do think he has nice potential though and one of the schools I heard was ND.

 

They threw quite a bit to Ian McGurn at tight end. Plus, if the have a weapon like True, maybe they will throw to him more. I realize they have many other receivers to use, so hopefully they will spread the wealth.

Dale will get the ball into the hands of his best weapons regardless of their position. Had a guy a few years back that played tight end and they seemed to find a way to get him the ball. I think his name was Smith. All-American or something like that playing TE for Highlands????

 

If True earns the ball he will get the ball.

I always believe actions speak louder than words. That being said, I had Coach Collinsworth on a flight from CVG to ATL, and there was coach in his full coaching gear ready to go to work. Short of asking him directly, I say the man coaches for the love of the game and retirement is not in his immediate plans. Go BIRDS!!!

That's great. Maybe someone should pass out a basketball schedule to those kids and ask them to cheer on their fellow classmates.

Cris Collinsworth is coaching next season. Bo Wasser, who played for Highlands in the 1960s, will assist him with the wide receivers.

I'll put it this way: one can safely assume that Cris will be an asst coach again this coming year. Makes an already difficult schedule even more difficult, but he loves doing it.

Oookay! So I'm guessing there wasn't 80 football players at the HHS/CCH basketball game last night. I know mine was.

 

I've always said that the student body support isn't what it used to be. First place you have can look is at a Friday night "Football" game. Not even close to what it used to be. Now it has gotten better as of late, but just 3 years ago, kids were not coming out in droves. Mine son told me his classmates said they got tired of seeing blowouts. Weak excuse if you ask me. Now if the kids are not coming to BB, then not sure what it is. Well maybe I do know. Again, back in the day, BB games were packed when I went to school there.

If player numbers are the same as last year, the Freshman level needs a couple more coaches.

Thanks nky, I think I remember that topic being danced around last year, but never actually answered. Hats off to Highlands, that is a good player/coach ratio.

It's great news to hear about Coach Collinsworth coming back in 2012! I heard he was a great asset to the team in 2011. Go 'Birds!
