Does anyone know what day HHS spring football will begin?

March 5th and there is snow on the ground in Ft Thomas. 1st day of Spring Football practice for the Birds...Love it!!!

Didn't they have to scrape snow off the field a couple year's back?

First day of spring football, Highlands turns out 65 kids.

 

What simply amazes me is after being off the field for 3 mos now and new personnel about, the Birds look to be in pretty good shape right now, sorta military like.

I do know this much, this will be one of Highlands biggest O-Lines all the across in recent memory. WOW!

And when they quote Dale, it will probably be the fastest team also. Is there kids in other sports also, it seems 65 is a little low.

I believe there were maybe 5 not dressed but watching, assuming injuries or the ole "I forgot the permission slip thing".

I think there are maybe a few spring sport season guys but not sure how many.

Actually.......it definitely will give any former team a run for their money.

 

And I do know of at least 5 or maybe more that are at Baseball.

I heard There won't be any lack of beef on the line. Who are some of the kids vying for these positions besides Whitford, Dee, Thome, Schweitzer?

Turner, Thurston, Saunders,...again no lack of size there.

That's different for a HHS line, can't wait to see this team ramp up!

Since the freshman line two years ago was gigantic, there is no surprise here.

Just remember this is only rising Soph - Seniors (CURRENT Frosh - Juniors). I don't think CURRENT 8th graders or Seniors are permitted to participate in Spring Football. Assuming a Frosh team of at least 30 + baseball kids and you get to 100 without much difficulty.

It's 3 grade levels and I'd love to know how many are not participating due to Spring Sports.
