I got my first report on spring practice from my spy. For obvious reasons I can't go into detail , but you should be surprised when you watch the Birds in late August. Even now players are fighting for playing time and the starting jobs.

 

I saw that spyguy. He ougth to be cutting the grass, washing windows or maybe driving Aunt Bee to the track instead of watching HS football practice and fishing all day. LOL

LOL !! Aunt Bee taught us early in life that football in the fort comes first, the rest can wait.

This is one scrimmage that will be worth the price of admission. Speaking of the price of admission, I happened to come up with an old ticket from the 23rd annual Recreation Bowl dated Saturday August 29, 1970. It was Ft.Thomas Highlands vs. Madisonville North Hopkins in The Recreation Bowl @ Mt. Sterling , KY. Admission price was $1.50.On the back side of the ticket , hand written in blue ink , was the final score Highlands 27 - Madisonville 14.

 

I know a couple of players from the "70" team that would love to have this in their trophy case. It's not worth anything in dollars, but it's "priceless", if you know what I mean. It brought back good memories, so , I thought I would share.
