Ok so that makes almost 15? The only 3 kids I know of that are Key footballers who play baseball as far as upper classmen are Colin Seidl, Quentin Murray and Gabe Schultz.

Depending on your definition of significant. Remember, this upcoming sophomore class is following arguably one of the greatest classes ever at HHS. There I said it. LOL!!! Arguably! Anyway, there will be some that play and letter but I don't see a Roller, Collinsworth, or even a Switzer (soph now) capable of starting. Significant minutes, maybe Schoeph, Pangallo, and the Kremer kid may get some significant minutes.

 

But with kids being in their developing years, you never know who might come about. There are quite a few good athletes out there. Time will tell and when Spring ball is done,then the real work will start for the youngsters. Lift, lift, run, run, lift, run and run some more.

Yes, it is a shame that all of the attention no longer shines in Lex when it comes to HS football. The days of the Bryan Stations, the Lafayettes as major players in KY hs football are long gone and are just a memory of the past...................

For yrs Highlands had to go through Lex to win their State Championships and they learned some lessons, have worked to better themselves and havent looked back.

Unfortunately, Lex has taken a different path and no longer is a player in HS football and it is quite apparent NKY and Lex has traded roles of past.

Outside of Lou and really only 2 or 3 teams, its seems that NKY has become the dominate FB king in KY and for the historians and older generations this does not sit well and thats understandable.

Several thoughts Hammerman: first I hope you don't leave the site. Second, this is a Highlands thread so I'm not sure it's reasonable to not expect a lot of Highlands chat going on. Third, you mentioned in another post that Highlands fans hijack a lot of threads. Truth is, Highlands gets brought into a lot of threads by non-Highlands fans (or at least posters that I don't know to be Highlands fans). For example, there was a thread discussing the Boyle LexCath football game last year. I don't think it was a Highlands fan that brought Highlands into the thread. That stuff happens a lot.

 

I get your frustration with Highlands being brought into a lot of threads, but your quoted post is in a Highlands thread. If you don't like all the Highlands chat, why open, read and post in a Highlands thread? Seems like you are looking for your frustration.

 

Sure there are a lot of Highlands fans on here that like to discuss Highlands sports, particularly football. That's a bad thing? Heck, if anything it shows the huge interest in Ft. Thomas towards Highlands athletics. Probably is grating to those that aren't Highlands fans, but isn't the answer for you to get more fans of Lafayette (I think you are a Lafayette supporter, correct?) on here talking about Lafayette? Do we like to reminisce about teams and players on past teams? Sure we do. Again, that shows a lot of support and interest in the program. Why is that a negative?

 

I also don't understand the statement that the mods are pro N. Ky. Other than the Ru, the mods that come to mind aren't even from N. Ky. (is Birdsfan a mod? If so, he would be the second one). That doesn't mean the non N. Ky based mods can't be pro N. Ky of course, but it would be odd for them to be so. Ram doesn't come across as pro N. Ky. Neither does rockmom.

 

Do we have some Highlands fans that can be over the top at times? Heck yeah we do but only a few and given the number of Highlands fans on here, I'd think that would be expected. There is a ton of pride in the program and I'm sure it can get the best of posters at times. But all in all, I think a large majority of Highlands posters are very knowledgable about the program and the sports they post about.

 

I do hope you re-think your decision and instead of bailing, you encourage more fans of the program you support to join BGP and join in the discussions.
