That is superb:thumb:

It's get tiresome hearing the same ole people inside and outside Highlands looking for an excuse to blame the Football program for the lack there of in Spring sports.

So do away with Spring Football and I would almost bet that the number goes from 15 or 16 kids to maybe 20. Sounds like football maybe isn't the reason the kids aren't playing.

So what gives?

I believe the baseball team is going to Myrtle Beach this year..

That's great to hear. Maybe I will check out the Baseball team in the Baseball Forum. Thanks for the info:thumb:

Baseball is boring. I mean, I loved baseball, but I know that my boys and a lot of their friends prefer to play soccer in the spring over baseball. So, in high school, you have kids who make the decision b/n soccer and football who have not played baseball in five plus years. They are not going to start playing again in ninth grade.

Of those 15 playing baseball, over half are current freshmen. It has been expected for quite a while that this class would help to bring the baseball program back to a regional contender at HHS. There are even a couple of boys that have decided to be baseball only athletes from this class .

You also have five or six current eighth graders playing frosh baseball that will play frosh football..

This is a really good group of baseball players, many of whom have been playing freshman or JV since 7th grade.

That is all? Somewhat disappointing I guess for Coach Baioni.
