Are there that many more NKy folks voting on here?

 

I'm not saying that it has to be the reason for the vote, but yes, there most certainly are.

Plus, you have a team thats given up 2 1/2 times the points that there opponent has, who, arguably, have played a better schedule with CAL, Green Co, Bardstown, Murray, Somerset, Monroe. Thats not a guggernaut schedule, but, its not bad either. Are there that many more NKy folks voting on here?

 

I'd pick every one of the teams that lost to HCto beat Glasgow, that undefeated record won't mean a dang thing tommorrow at 3.

Somerset made this exact same argument...that obviously didn't turn out to well for them when they played HC.

I can't believe a 3 loss team has 78% of the vote vs an undefeated team thats been ranked considerably higher most of the year. Really?

 

Holy Cross is far from the team they were during the losses they had earlier. Ever since losing to Newport Catholic during the regular season, they have really turned it on.

Good luck hc in the finals. The trip is bittersweet for me. It is the first year in a long time one of my brothers is not on the team.

Nothing I say will change your viewpoint or that of most of the NKY football fans that read this board. But I will offer my opinion. The CHC vs. Somerset game was very close until mid-way through the 3rd quarter. Somerset missed some key assignments and then completely lost their composure. To say that score (48-14) is an accurate reflection of the quality of the Somerset team is insulting to them. The margin of victory was due to lost composure and their coaching staff failing to make a key defensive adjustment in the 2nd half. But, I do not doubt that CHC is a better team than Somerset..

 

Didn't this same thing happen at the beginning of the John Hardin-BG game? Funny how that makes BG "that good" of a team, but does nothing for HC. In a championship run, your team needs to be able to respond to sudden change in a game. That is often the difference b/n Champion and Regional Finalist or Semi-Finalist.

 

As for the speed thing...last year OC had it all over the field and were going to demolish a slow NewCath team, until they realized that they weren't slow on the line. HC has changed their mindset and it has made them play much faster over the course of the playoffs, particularly defensively. I don't know much about Glasgow, so I can't predict anything. I will just say that HC is more than capable of matching any teams athleticisim and explosiveness is 2A.

It's not our fault that NKYer's love football to a fault. To say you have to say that HC is no doubt better than Somerset is like saying the light bulb is no doubt better than the candle. HC did not squeak by Somerset they blew by them. I don't care what the coaches did or did not do, they lost to a superior team. Not a one NewCath fan is making excuses for thier loss to HC in the regionals. HC is peaking at the right time and it is what it is. Good luck and God speed HC.

Perhaps, but one might argue that you guys have a tendency to apply the historic success of Beechwood, NCC, HHS and CovCath to all of your teams.

 

What's most interesting is how the comparison of the Somerset games is proof positive of what's going to happen. Ignoring, of course, that Glasgow played Somerset in week 6 and that they probably improved since then, same way Holy Cross improved since its beatdown at the hands of NCC in week 9. Also especially interesting is how NoKy football fans who avoid leaving the I-275 area like the plague know so much about a team they've never seen.

That has a lot to do with it, but it's not all of it.
